Jin vs. Sean Nicholas

THROWBACK CLASSIC! Watch the battle from 2001 that cemented Jin's spot in the Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame.

With "Furious 7," the latest of the Fast and Furious series film in theaters, long-time battle fans are probably asking “Where’s Jin?” Seriously though, the re-emergence of rap battles in the early 2000s allowed many emcees to amass a following and use it as a platform to jump into greater opportunities. Jin became one of BET "106 and Park" Freestyle Friday’s first major success stories, and the moment of him solidifying his moment came at the expense of Sean Nicholas.

With Jin’s victory here, he entered the segment’s Hall of Fame, which then saw him make the worldwide announcement that he’d been signed to Ruff Ryders. Jin’s momentum continued, including landing a strong supporting part in 2 Fast 2 Furious. If you’d like to revisit the rest of Jin’s run, YouTube has everything.

Every Thursday, BattleRap.com posts a classic battle that you should know about, or at least be reminded of occasionally. See them all here.
