Music Of The Month: Tay Roc, Daylyt, Math Hoffa

Your monthly mix of music from the battle rap community.

We're two months into 2015 and battle rap fans have already been served up two major events with "Battle Of The Bay 7" and "Blackout 5." Now though, it's time to shine some light on the music that came out in February.

Every month we compile a list of the best singles, videos and albums to come out of the battle rap community. This month's list includes new music from Tay Roc, Daylyt, Calicoe, and more.

Tay Roc - "G-Wall Music"

Keeping it local for his latest video, Tay Roc puts on for Baltimore with "G-Wall Music," which dropped on URL's 415,000-subscriber-strong channel.

Daylyt

Daylyt is nearly as prolific of a recording artist as he is a battler, seeming to churn out new music on a weekly basis. Here are a couple tracks from the past month worth a listen. Warning: there's plenty of clever-as-ever trolling in the "Shave My Legs Like A Real One" video.

S.O. Finesse - "The Legend" (Young B Tribute)

With battle rap still mourning the untimely death of Young B The Future, S.O. Finesse put together a memorial for the fallen battler.

Illmaculate - Hazy Sundaze (Web Series)

With Illmaculate and OnlyOne's joint album Only&Ill shaping up for a May release, Illmaculate has been featuring a weekly vlog documenting the recording process, live performances, and plenty more. Check out Episode 1 below and the rest of the series over on his YouTube channel.

Okwerdz & King Los - Freestyle Vault 15

Bringing out the fast-rising Baltimore talent King Los for the latest edition of his "Freestyle Vault" series, Okwerdz keeps up with his previous episodes and raises the bar with the latest segment.

Cortez - "Gotta Go"

Breaking down a flailing relationship in his latest track, Cortez's "Gotta Go" got the visual treatment earlier this month.

Rap Grid 2015 Cypher - AMiAM, JBiz, MyVerse, Drect, & Jonny Storm

No intro needed, just bars on bars.

Cali Smoov - Independently Mainstream

With features from the likes of Fingaz, Fana, Nyku, and Lotta Zay, Cali Smoov's new album has 16 tracks and is ready for download over at Coast2Coast. Check out a video from the project:

Math Hoffa feat. Willie Nuetron - "Single 4 Life"
