Real Deal & Sno Speak On Their URL Match-Up

The two battlers recap their recent URL battle and break down the event as a whole.

While some called into question Real Deal's status as a veteran leading up to the URL's recent "Rookies vs. Vets" event, Smack White quickly shot down the hate and stood up for RD's place in the game. The night of the event itself the URL crowd seemed to agree, cheering on Real Deal as an obvious favorite and leaving Sno to hope the battle looked better for him on camera.

BattleRap.com caught up with both rappers after the match-up and got their thoughts on the night as a whole and their own performances.

Real Deal: "It Was So Refreshing"

Explaining how he's long had to deal with an industry that hasn't been very accepting of him, Real Deal opened up about his ugly-duckling status and said he felt vindicated by the crowd's support last week.

"I loved it," Real Deal said of the URL event. "I fucking loved it. I was outside. I caught so much love on the way in. It was so refreshing, man."

Still, Real Deal also said he's learned about the importance of having thick skin and why he lets his performance speak for itself.

"It's one thing if you were just like, 'Real Deal's not good,'" he said. "I'd be like, 'Okay, that's a preference.' What else do I have to do? I battled a black dude on SMACK, they said, 'Oh, he was gassed 'cause he's white.' I battle a white dude, what am I gassed 'cause I'm white again? Whatever bro. I break my back to put this shit together. Straight up."

As for his battle against Sno, RD said his rounds went nearly exactly as planned.

"I strategically plot this shit, on some terrorist shit," he said. "It hit how I thought it would hit. I thought he had some shit, whatever. Bro, I've given my own information out there. I love the crowd. I love URL crowds. It's not even 'cause I'm here  dickriding shit, they pay $70 to get general admission."

Sno: "Real Deal Was Working"

Sno took an obvious live loss against Real Deal but held out hope that the footage would favor some of his rhymes.

"I feel like a lot of his shit — it's gonna be on camera," he said. "You know, live, Real Deal was working. The crowd was kind of weird but it is what it is.

"I almost felt like they just wasn't catching a lot of shit," he added. "I should've dumbed it down a little bit. Maybe I should have just showed up and talked about fucking his mom. They would've loved it."

Speaking about why he seemed to hold back on some of his usual vulgarity, Sno admitted that he might have made a mistake in trying to accommodate Real Deal's style.

"Real Deal is smart so I thought Real Deal was actually gonna take an angle on it," he said. "I didn't want to overdo it. I just kind of left it alone. I almost feel like that's what they wanted to hear though."
