Math Hoffa Tells Story Behind Face Scar

Math Hoffa explains the scar he's referenced in battles like a 2010 match-up against Aye Verb.

In a newly released interview with VladTV, Math Hoffa explains how he got the scar he’s referenced in his battles.

“I’m New York’s star / I’ve got New York scars,” he rapped, motioning towards his face in the third-round of a battle against Aye Verb.

“I don’t really wanna give a detailed story to give no light to the coward that I went through this with,” Hoffa says in the VladTV interview. “I was 15 years old. In my hood it was crazy at the time...not how it is now. When I was growing up it was the 30 niggas at the busstop era. You’re not getting off on that stop. You gotta go to the next one, buddy. It was that type of era. A lot of people were turning it up because they felt like that was it was all about. To a certain extent, I got wrapped up in the same thing. I got in a fight one day with this kid and he pulled out a razor. And I was never the type to really back down. I got bullied when I was younger like crazy. I still remember the first time I stood up to a bully. That kind of empowered me. From then on, I was like the bully’s bully. If you bullied somebody on my block then I was getting at you. So when clown dudes would come around with bad energy just trying to start shit all the time I would always get into it with them.

“The dude that I got into it with with the razor, he was that type of dude,” he continues. “I didn't care. I was still going at it. I told him, ‘I’m gonna beat your ass with the razor in your hand. Watch me work.’ We got wrapped up. My moms came outside, she saw what was going on. We fell on some trash and I just felt his hands moving. I pulled myself up and I grabbed him—I was nuts back then—so I head-butt him and he dropped the razor. He fell and he tried to square up with me again. He swung, I’ll never forget, I don’t know where I got this three-piece combination from, but it was crazy. So he swung, I got under him and hit him twice on his chin, and then hooked him. He hit the floor.

“People are grabbing me now, I’m like, ‘No, get off me,’" he adds. "My mother gets in the way and the dude gets up and he grabs my moms by her arms from the back. He’s like, ‘Miss, tell your son to chill.’ My mom moved out the way and I’m going at it with him and I felt something wet drip off my chin and I just saw red after that. It was an ugly day. I had to go to the hospital. He had to go to the hospital. I didn’t have to stay overnight though. It was crazy.”

Hoffa also Tweeted about the incident.
