SMACK Says He's Creating A Judging System For URL Battles

“NOME 4 is like, Night of the Main events. So like every battle of this card for the night is a main event,” says Smack in an interview with ForbezDVD.

URL Founder Smack White, was interviewed by ForbezDVD about URL’s Night Of Main Events 4 taking place June 7, Daylyt and Math Hoffa’s URL return, Loaded Lux vs. Murda Mook (Part 2), his hand symbol and Total Slaughter.

While speaking of NOME 4, Smack named Tay Rock as his current favorite battle rapper.

“It’s not the same Tay Roc at all," he said. "[Tay Roc] he’s like my favorite battle rapper, right now presently. Every battle after that Charlie Clips battle I see improvement, I seen hunger and I seen bars and energy. I fuck with Tay Roc heavy thats my favorite battle rapper right now hands down.”

Smack also discussed Daylyt and Math Hoffa’s return to URL. Hoffa and Daylyt were banned from URL in 2013. Math Hoffa was banned from URL after fighting Serius Jones and Daylyt was banned for tearing apart the venue.

“The event left a black eye around the brand,” said Smack. “Venues not fucking with us because it’s a liability.”

Smack also revealed that the brand lost sponsorships because of the incidents that occurred that night. “I think he [Math Hoffa] let his emotions get the best of him that night, we were all in shock,” he said. Because he sucker punched Serius Jones during Summer Madness 3, Hoffa was banned from URL event’s because Smack doesn’t want people to think that he approves of his actions. “I can’t support that,” Smack said.

Murda Mook and Loaded Lux are scheduled to have a rematch. The two originally battled on SMACK DVDs. Smack said that the battle “was not his” but did state that it was a classic on Smack DVDs. “The culture is basically growing, we got corporate companies coming into the battle,” he said. Smack also revealed that his favorite non-URL match is the Loaded Lux vs. Hollow Da Don battle.

“Everybody think I’m representin' the illuminati,” says Smack about his hand symbol. “This [the hand signal] is real nigga time, I did it for health and wealth too.”

In the second half of the interview, Smack talks about his dream battle which would consist of Meek Mills versus Fabolous. “They cool, they family,” Smack said. “I just like those two cause when they spit you can hear that shit in they material.”

“I was talking to him [Joe Budden] about the Hollow [Da Don] shit early on...," Smack continues. "I can’t really say that [‘nigga’s bit your shit’] I came to him when I heard that he was interested or possibly willing to jump in the battle circuit, you know a nigga got out bid quick, just because corporate vs independent. We didn’t win that negotiation.”

Smack also explained why there aren’t judges in battle rap and revealed that he’s in the process of creating a judging system.

“So many different ways to judge a battle," he said. "You might judge the battle based on punchlines. I might judge the shit on crowd reactions. He might judges the shit on who’s the funniest. Everybody got their own way to judge a battle. I'm tryna right now, i’m in the process of building an incredible judging system. I’m getting tired of everybody claiming they never lost, they undefeated.”

Towards the end of the interview Smack had Doggie Diamonds break down his choices for the upcoming NOME 4 battle and reveal his predictions of who the winners of the battle will be.

Smack says Summer Madness 4 most likely will be held the second week of August. Loaded Lux's inclusion in a URL event is possible but based off of return on investment.
