Hollow Da Don Details Possibility Of Cassidy Battling

"The only way he won't battle is if he get a single that blow up before," Hollow Da Don says. "Niggas come back for the bread."

Responding to statements made by Cassidy that he wouldn’t accept a battle for $40,000, Hollow Da Don explained in an interview with VladTV feeling like the Philadelphia rapper will take a battle but wants more money.

“Nigga Cass is just in the way,” Hollow Da Don said. “Honestly.”

Asked specifically about Cassidy turning down a $40,000 battle fee, Hollow hinted that the emcee isn’t making that type of money from his own music.

“I don’t even wanna talk about the bread because I don’t know his bread situation,” he said. “Anybody that knows music and how Hip Hop is and how the industry is, if you’re not selling, if you don’t have nothing you own, nothing you’re pushing the last few years, there’s no way you’re eating. You’re still spending money on bills you got, taking care of your family. But you ain’t making none if you ain’t got nothing on radio. Like c’mon, you might be doing shows here and there. A couple shows a month, when the last time you heard a Cassidy show?

“I don’t wanna sit in here and shit on the boy ‘cause I’m a fan of Cass,” Hollow added. “Honestly I don’t listen to his shit how I used to but the old Cass I used to bang heavy. So I’m not sit here and front how he do like, ‘Halo Da Don? I don’t know boy. What’s his name? Halo? Damn, it ring a bell.’ I’m not gonna do that. I fuck with the nigga. Nigga hot. His old shit stay banging...But to sit here and front like you’re way above it. Joe Budden’s even said it, ‘C’mon bro, you’re not getting 30 [or] 40 racks nowhere to do nothing.’ This is a guy in the industry telling you this. He just wanted to jump fly on us. He gon’ battle.”

Expanding on the possibility that Cassidy will end up taking a battle, Hollow said that unless Cassidy finds a new venture he expects him to make a return.

“The only way he won’t battle if he get a single that blow up before…[or] a condom deal,” he said. “Some shit like that. That’s the only way he probably won’t battle. But c’mon...let keep it a buck here. I ain’t never retired on niggas. I ain’t never fell back. Niggas come back for the bread.”

On a possible deal for Cassidy to battle, Hollow recalled hearing about an offer for as much as $75,000.

“I don’t know what they offered him,” he said. “I’m pretty sure it was like [$75,000] or something crazy.”

On whether or not he thinks Cassidy could win a battle in the current industry, Hollow responded that “it depends on which battler.”

“I think he could hang with certain battlers, but I think certain niggas would get at him because some of his punches are outdated,” he said.

Hollow added that he wouldn’t be motivated to battle Cassidy himself.

“Honestly, I’m not excited,” he said. “I’d have to see him first. Joe Budden’s somebody that still has relevant lines to me. Cass would say an old bar about a cell and a battery. Not even to play him but that’s just why I don’t listen to his shit no more. Same flow. When he dissed Meek, it was like the same flow with old bars...I think he would step it up though. I think he’s smart enough. He might not be. I don’t know. If he had to battle I think he should know that he gotta go more in-depth than a simple ass punchline or something.”
