Norbes Of SMACK/URL & Debo Of QOTR Detail Upcoming N.H.B. Event

"I think this is at the level of Lux and Hollow for the females," Norbes says of 40 B.A.R.R.S. vs. Jaz The Rapper.

Queen of the Ring’s No Holds Barred event is scheduled for later this month. Sitting down with VladTV to speak about one of the card’s biggest battles, the league’s CEO Debo and Norbes of SMACK/URL talked about the 40 B.A.R.R.S. vs. Jaz The Rapper match.

While Debo remained mostly impartial, Norbes detailed his support for Jaz as the rapper’s manager.

“That’s gon’ be an ill battle,” Debo said. “I’m the owner of the league they about to battle in, so I can’t say too much. I’ll let my friend right here get crazy and shit...It’s gon’ be a crazy battle, though. I will say this. Both of them at the prime of their game, they both get crazy. I got respect for both of them. I got respect for both of them. Not just in battle rap, overall. They carry themselves well...They’re good examples.”

While 40 B.A.R.R.S. is a QOTR mainstay, Jaz The Rapper left the league after starting out there initially.

“40 really wanted this battle a long time,” Norbes said. “She felt like Jaz was her only competition. Jaz has a lot of respect for 40 bars. I think Jaz wanted it during Queen of the Ring. She felt like Queen of the Ring should have had this battle and she feels like it’s more of an even playing field for the battle. I respect Jaz coming down—or not even coming down but coming to Queen of the Ring...She want to come here and beat who a lot of the Queen of the Ring fans feel is the #1 rapper in Queen of the Ring which is 40. Jaz coming down to beat her there is very commendable. I think it’s gonna be a dope battle.

“I feel like 40’s never faced anybody like Jaz, to be honest with you,” Norbes added. “I think they’re both gonna be at their A Game. I think 40’s definitely gonna bring her A+ all star game. I expect it. I expect a nice shot at me. I expect Jaz to come out victorious.

“I think this is at the level of Lux and Hollow for the females,” he continued. “I’m gonna keep it real. Even though I think 40’s gonna lose, I think it’s gonna be at that level. This is the biggest battle for the ladies.”

During the interview the pair also broke down the C3 vs. Tori Doe battle and the event more generally. N.H.B. is scheduled for June 28 at Irving Plaza in New York City.
