Big T & B-Magic Weigh In On Their Battle At NOME 4

“I’m gonna take that W home with me,” Big T said.

Right after his battle with B-Magic at NOME 4 on June 7, Big T spoke with VladTV about the battle, the reaction from the crowd, the constrained Cortez and T-Rex matchup and his thoughts on whether or not NOME 4 was better than its predecessor.

Speaking generally about the battle, Big T admits that both him and B-Magic could have done better.

“I think the battle was good,” he said. “I think B-Magic just fucked up his round two and three. I say B-Magic did good on round two, if he was tight enough he could of probably got away with it, that’s in the room, but he fucked up in the room. I’m more better on camera anyway so it’s a good battle. It was cool. We both could of did better but I’m gonna take that W home with me.”

Talking about his reactions to a fiery and perhaps biased crowd, Big T admits his bars had to be crazy to gather even the slightest reaction because of the fans fondness of B-Magic.

“Yeah you know this battle shit is starting to get about who they want to win,” he said. “I call B-Magic the People’s Champ. He can’t do no wrong. He’s a humble dude, everybody likes him but at the same time, be fair with it. I would have to say lines that gotta go crazy before I even get a cheer or anything. But Magic’s lines is right there, he better for a big crowd. Me? I’m a better small crowd battler than Magic because there’s more depth with what people can think. [With] a big crowd, B-Magic is very dope.”

On the controversial battle between Cortez and T-Rex, Big T stated that time limits are rarely adhered to.
“You know what’s funny? My battle was supposed to be a two-minute timed round,” he said. “Now that’s why my rounds was probably shorter because it’s gon’ be a two-minute timed round. I don’t know if their battle was but mines was supposed to be. But this time limit shit people always say ‘this is your time limit,’ but every time they just let you go over. So I been sticking to time limits and people be rapping for four or five minutes on me. But it’s all good.”

When asked to choose between NOME 3, where Big T battled against K-Shine, and NOME 4, the Chicago native admits he believes NOME 3 was superior.

“NOME 3 was a better event,” he said. “I didn’t see all the battles though so there ain’t no telling. NOME 4 probably had better bars.”
