Phara Funeral, Jaz The Rapper & E Hart Discuss "N.H.B." & Ghostwriting

Phara Funeral and Jaz The Rapper also talk about the highly demanded matchup between the two with the pair saying they’re both “not interested in that.”

Prior to SMACK/URL’s NOME 4 event that took place in New York on June 7, BattleRap.com caught up with Phara Funeral, Jaz The Rapper and E Hart who disclosed their own views on ghostwriting. They also talk briefly on the highly demanded battle between Phara Funeral and Jaz The Rapper.

On the topical subject of ghostwriting in Battle Rap, E Hart, Jaz The Rapper and Phara Funeral all discussed their own personal views with both E Hart and Jaz The Rapper saying it’s cheating.

“It’s wack,” E Hart said. “I was just talkin’ to New Born about that this morning over the Facebook shit. Ghostwriting is wack. Granted there are females that get down with crews and you start sounding like your crew. I understand that if you around a bunch of niggas they are gonna give you input. But there is some females that are just getting straight verses from niggas and that shit is wack. That’s how I feel about it. It happens though. A lot of bitches is cheating and it will come to light. I’m not going fishing for no hard evidence but it will come to light.”

“I feel the same,” added Jaz The Rapper. “It’s cheating. I mean, what we don’t know won’t hurt us. I don’t like to accuse people of it unless I really know. I’ve been accused so I know what it’s like. And I know what it’s like to have to sit down and write all this shit. I’ve said this plenty of times, it’s a compliment—you never hear them saying a wack bitch got a ghostwriter unless her style sounds like somebody. You never hear somebody wack and they be like, ‘she got a ghostwriter.’ If you nice, you get that accusation. I just learn to take it as a compliment and keep getting better, man. I feel like if I wasn’t accused I would be like, ‘damn, I must be wack.’ They accusing fuckin’ Official and Phara [Funeral] and 40 [B.A.R.R.S] so I’m just like, ‘I guess I’m up there.’ That’s just how I feel about it. I think everybody should feel the same way.”

“Actually ghostwriting is what it is,” Phara Funeral said. “Everybody blows it out of proportion. I don’t think half of the girls that they say have ghostwriters have ghostwriters. And it sucks because when you actually have females that sit down and they write, and they take their time to write, it just takes away from our craft and our league and it makes us look bad…
I have faith in all the girls that they write their own shit. It is what it is. If you don’t have a ghostwriter it shouldn’t bother you. If you do then who gives a fuck? If you get caught out there then that’s you but if you gon’ do it, do it, be yourself, be authentic.”

When asked about a potential battle between Phara Funeral and Jaz The Rapper, the pair both admitted they aren’t interested.

“That’s like a battle everybody asks and we’re not interested in that,” Phara Funeral said.

Jaz The Rapper continues: “And then when I battled [Ms.] Hustle and I said some shit about Phara and she came in my face, it was like the fire got rekindled. It was like ‘oh yeah, we wanna see that!’ And I’m just like, ‘no.’

Well anyway, people wanna see the battle. People wanna see a lot of battles between us and other people. It’s just I don’t take battles I’m not interested in. People do that, I don’t.”

Phara Funeral, Jaz The Rapper and E Hart are all scheduled to battle at Queen Of The Ring’s No Holds Barred, an event that is set to take place June 28 in New York.
