Hollow Da Don On Joe Budden: "Stay In Place...Your Success Is Not That Huge"

Hollow Da Don reacts to Joe Budden calling him out before their battle and explains introducing Mike Zombie to Drake.

With his battle against Joe Budden less than a month away, a new segment of an interview with Hollow Da Don has been released by Mikey T The Movie Star. Responding to his opponent’s smack talk ahead of the battle, Hollow also detailed his part in introducing “Started From The Bottom” producer Mike Zombie to Drake.

On recent comments from Joe Budden claiming that he’s not successful enough to have a profile worth dissing in their battle, Hollow Da Don explained feeling like “every man’s own success is defined by him.”

“He said, ‘It’s hard to write for him because he’s not successful,’” Hollow recalled. “I’m like, ‘Well, how do you define success?’ You can’t define another man’s success. At the end of the day, success is not about money and fame to me. If it was, I would just be low-balling niggas trying to get all the money and all the battles I could. But it’s not about money and fame for my success. My success is about being real to myself, true to what I want to do and not changing for nothing. It’s how you define success. It’s on you. Every man’s own success is defined by him. So, don’t do that Joey, stay in place. Your success is not that huge. Calm down. I don’t know if Love And Hip Hop got you but slow it down Joey. But lyrically we all know Joey’s nice. Let’s get to the battle, stop talking shit Joe.”

On using his connection with Drake to send beats to the Toronto rapper on behalf of Mike Zombie, Hollow Da Don said “some shit is meant to be.”

“Mike Zombie sent the joint to Drake,” he said. “I sent him an email. Whatever whatever. That shit just came together. Some shit is meant to be. That shit just happen like that. I met Mike Zombie through him just hitting me on Twitter. I think his man hit me on Twitter like, ‘Yo, check out this beat.’ Somebody I follow. So I checked him out and he was on my Loyalty Is A Way Of Life mixtape...From there he was just sending me more shit...I’m like, ‘Oh shit, this nigga is undeniable.’ I got the vision, I already seen it.

“One of the beats was definitely the ‘Started From The Bottom,’” he added. “It was called ‘A Lot Of Drugs.’ I knew when I sent him the beat it was gonna be that beat he was gonna use. Yeah, big shit happens man. You never know, just keeping it loyal and the relationship can help get you some paper in the long-run but most people concerned with the little paper they can get in the short run. They just want the quick money right now.”

Last year, Drake and NBA player Kevin Durant debated who won a battle between Hollow Da Don and Tsu Surf with the Toronto rapper campaigning for Hollow.
