Lush One Denies Involvement In Dizaster, Math Hoffa Fight

"I think my track record is one of integrity," Lush One says before addressing the fallout from the fight.

With some fans and Battle Rap insiders pinning blame on Lush One for Dizaster punching Math Hoffa at BOLA 5, the Fresh Coast representative emphatically denied the rumors in an interview with VladTV.

“Definitely 1,000 percent no,” he said when asked about his involvement. “That’s the most damaging and unsettling and just upsetting thing about this whole situation, that there would be any doubt...I think my track record is one of integrity. We’ve had rappers from all the over the place, from all over the world come out, and get nothing but love, get paid well. We do good business. We take care of everybody, in particular New York. Math is no exception. We would never do anything. I would never do anything. Had I known this was gonna happen, I would have never booked the battle...I don’t even think Dizaster was planning on this. I think if anything Dizaster was scared that Math was gonna hit him or just concerned that Math was gonna throw a punch. I don’t think he had any idea this was gonna happen. It was just the heat of the moment. But, I definitely had nothing to do with that and obviously people wanna just capitalize off the moment and exploit other people’s misfortune for their own personal gain.”

Continuing with his explanation, Lush One went on to cite how damaging the incident was to Fresh Coast itself.

“Hell fucking no I would never set up anybody,” he said. “I hope Math knows that. This will never happen in any capacity on a Fresh Coast stage again. There’s no other artists that have ever battled out here that have felt that type of threat or animosity or negativity. If we wanted to set somebody up that’s not the way we would have gone about doing it. Something that damages us and our reputation and cost me thousands upon thousands of dollars. Me and Math have never even had a negative altercation. We’ve only met twice in person and it was both hella love both times. Been a fan of his. He thinks I’m an entertaining ass White boy or whatever. We’re cool with each other.”

Speaking on the fallout from the fight, Lush One added Dizaster “has to take responsibility for it.”

“Honestly, at the end of the day, once again Dizaster is my homeboy but he’s a grown-ass man,” he said. “We all saw the video. Dizaster hit Math. Math didn’t hit himself. Just like whatever Math did in the past, he owned up for his actions and I hope Dizaster does the same thing. Although there is animosity what that looks like to me is that Math got in Diz’s head and fucked with him to the point where Diz couldn’t take it and he flipped his shit. Even if Math was antagonizing him, even if Math was fucking with him...Diz ultimately is the one that threw the punch. He has to take responsibility for it. I understand what he was trying to allude to and metaphorically that makes sense or whatever, but it seems like if I was him, I would just take responsibility for it. He did what he did. It is what it is.”

After addressing Daylyt’s alleged involvement in the fight (and the rapper later fighting Dizaster himself), Lush One said “Battle Rap has nothing to do with fighting.”

“If grown men have a score to settle that can’t be talked out and there’s nothing else you can do, it makes sense for them to fight, right?” he said. “But not in the way it went down. That’s not the proper forum for the fight. Battle Rap has nothing to do with fighting. Battle Rap is the antithesis of fighting. So we can’t have that in the mix. Period. That’s it.”
