Loaded Lux Congratulates Murda Mook On “Total Slaughter" Victory

Loaded Lux says Battle Rap is still growing and that there isn’t a “pinnacle.”

Speaking exclusively with ThatShitIsHotSunLive!, Loaded Lux offered a respectful round of applause to his opponent, Murda Mook, following his defeat at the Eminem-backed “Total Slaughter” event this past Saturday (July 12) in New York.

“Yo, man. [I] gotta shout-out Murda Mook,” explains Loaded Lux. “He did that. He really put that thing together well. It was a fight, you know what I’m saying? For me, every new stage takes some getting used to so to speak. Difficulty in the fight but for the most part I’m just loving how it went down between us, man. It’s classic. It’s legendary. Two legends coming at one another and [Murda Mook] came in there with it. I gotta tip my hat to him. Angles and everything, he did that right. Shout-out to Harlem.”

Later on in the clip, Loaded Lux discusses being a pioneer in Battle Rap and also comments on the growth of the industry over the years.

“That’s a fact,” he said. “I always tell people, ‘The word is essential in Hip Hop, man.’ You can’t escape that. Although it will continually evolve and do what it do and be what it is, what you say matters. And when you have a platform where you can say something that matters and put that artistry together to where people take it and wittingly breakdown things and as clever as we are as artists, I think that’s grand, man. To keep fuelling the mind. It’s a beautiful thing to watch. The first [battle] got us to here and we still building, man. Ain’t no pinnacle.”
