Daylyt Hints At Leaving Battle Rap, Says Total Slaughter 2 Is Underway

Daylyt also shares his views on the Total Slaughter battles, including Joe Budden/Hollow Da Don and Loaded Lux/Murda Mook.

Yesterday (July 23) Total Slaughter contestant Daylyt posted a video to YouTube where he discusses various topics including his upcoming plans, the Total Slaughter event and the battles that went down there.

On the topic of his future, the Watts, Calif. lyricist announces his plans to leave battle rap completely and subsequently start his own league.

“As of right now I got a couple more battles coming up but after that I will be completely done with battle rap,” Daylyt says. “I will be venturing off to officially start my entire league. I am starting a league. I got a lot of stuff in the works for my league, I’ve also started a league before, [it] turned out very successful… [I] got a lot of big names that’s gonna be involved in that league and when I say big names I don’t mean battle rap names. I got a lot of big industry cat names. A lot of big battles will be going down. Will I be battling in my league? Yes I will be battling in my league but I will not be battling as Daylyt. I’m actually going to recreate myself again.”

Daylyt also reveals that preparation for the sequel to “The Road to Total Slaughter” has already begun.

“Road To Total Slaughter 2 is in process,” he says. “Will I be involved in that? As of right now, if I’m not involved in it, I don’t know … I’m lying. Yes I’ll be involved in it. I’m the lead fuckin’ character in it. With that being said, I pleased a lot of people. A lot of people that didn’t know me before know me now. I gained almost 8,000 followers in a couple of days.

Speaking generally about the Total Slaughter event, Daylyt says it was a success.

“As a whole the event was a success to me because I understand on a platform that big, it’s bigger than battle rap,” Daylyt explains. “I see a lot of people in the world feeling a certain way about it. A lot of people didn’t like the event. A lot of people didn’t like the turnout and that’s because they expected it to be so battle rap [oriented]. But an event of this magnitude, whenever you put names on it like Joe Budden or Eminem, you got entirely new type of people coming to this battle that are not battle rap fans.”

Moving on to the rematch between Loaded Lux and Murda Mook, Daylyt reveals he bet on Mook to walk away the victor and subsequently won “a lot of money.”

“We have to stop doubting Mook,” he says. “This goes to the entire world, we gotta stop doubting Mook. Mook is indeed the best battle rapper ever and there’s no question about it. I been telling people that for the longest … Mook has damaged a lot of careers. We haven’t heard from Iron Soloman since … If Lux had came with just bars he could of beat Mook. He could have really washed Mook. But, Lux has decided to go into the ‘Imma talk to you’ area. You cannot go into the ‘Imma talk to you’ area with Mook. Mook is the king of ‘Imma talk to ‘em…’ I actually won a lot of money on this battle. I betted on Mook. I was one of the only niggas that betted on Mook and I won a lot of money from this battle. I highly appreciate that.”

Discussing the headlining battle between Joe Budden and Hollow Da Don, Daylyt says he felt the two emcees’ energy levels thrived off one another.

“I think their energy levels fed off each other,” he says. “As Joe Budden started to die down, as the crowd started to wind down from him, the crowd also started to wind down from Hollow. As it got to the third, there was dry spots in Hollow’s verse where the crowd just wasn’t buying it. It also happened in Joe’s third verse where the crowd just wasn’t buying it. And at that point that was where Joe was like, ‘If ya’ll boo me again, I’m not rapping.’”

On the subject of the antics that transpired in his third round, Daylyt offers a detailed explanation. In the video, Daylyt also reveals some of the bars he was planning on using but didn’t get to spit including references to Eminem, Slaughterhouse and Game.

“People ask me like, ‘What did you do in the third?’ Well in my third round, there’s a portion in the Spawn saga where Spawn feels like his suit was eating itself,” he said. “The suit was the problem. His suit was the cancer. So at that moment he rips off his suit, his cape and all that shit and then that’s when he ends up getting the wings. So to let y’all know in my third round at the moment where I was like, ‘Yo, I forgot my medication,’ at that exact point, my man UTK was actually supposed to come to the stage dressed as a clown and light me on fire. My cape and all that shit was supposed to be on fire, we already rehearsed that shit and all that shit … Pretty much I was supposed to fall on the ground and roll around. A lot of people probably thinking, ‘Well what happened?’ Well prior to everything that’s been happening with the whole situation that’s being going back-and-forth with the Math [Hoffa] and Dizaster shit, in the back, my man UTK actually had an alteration with some people from that side of the coast and they actually put him in the situation where he wasn’t able to get to the stage.”
