Extending their particular brand of "smaller names vs. bigger names" match-ups, New York-based battle league Rare Breed Entertainment has announced its upcoming "Blood Sweat & Tiers" event and card. The event will be co-hosted by Math Hoffa and offer a pay-per-view option to fans not in attendance.
The headlining battle at the Nov. 1 event pits Arsonal against Big Kannon. Speaking on that battle but also generalizing about the card as a whole, RBE's CEO ARP said that he expects seasoned battlers like Arsonal to bring their best. “Half of this card is getting shot straight to the top of the food chain,” he said. “They’re getting an opportunity to battle people that other battlers in this world would never get opportunities to battle."
The event will also provide a platform for Goodz and Ah Di Boom to battle, Boom’s third placement against a bigger name at an RBE event in a row (although he backed out of his battle against JC in July).
Elsewhere on the card O-Red will battle Ooops, a match-up ARP says will have its own lasting legacy. “I think that battle could potentially be a classic,” he said. “I think a lot of battles on this card could be a classic, but that one right there, bar for bar, I think it’s gonna get crazy.”
Other battles include Swave Sevah vs. Showoff, Rosenburg Raw vs. Jai, and a battle featuring Jimz and a yet-to-be-announced opponent. In a clip, Jimz says: “I really want DNA to step up to the plate but any of y'all top tier... I want all them niggas who think they nice [to] step in the ring.” Both ARP and Jimz announced plans to field offers from battlers interested in the match-up.
Rare Breed Entertainment has made a name for itself by pitting bigger names against smaller names. Earlier this year, the league’s New Year Order card featured Aye Verb against Ah Di Boom, Swave Sevah vs. Rosenburg Raw, Goodz vs. Danja Zone, and more.
