Norbes Breaks Down Hitman Holla/Tsu Surf Match-up

Norbes also details the participants of Season 3 of “Ultimate Freestyle Friday” on BET.

SMACK/URL representative Norbes addressed whether or not there would be a fight clause in the contracts of emcees Hitman Holla and Tsu Surf ahead of their battle at “Summer Madness 4” following an apparent altercation that arose between the pair earlier this year.

“We’ve always got a ‘No Violence’ clause, if you put hands on [someone] you suspended, man,” Norbes says in a newly-published interview with 15 Minutes Of Fame Radio. “My brother Math [Hoffa] did the dumb shit and it is what it is but you shouldn’t have to put your hands on nobody. I’m not a supporter of ignorance and promoting ignorance so at the end of the day that’s not gonna be done. But at the same time, Hitman and Surf, that one incident they had it was because all the shit-talking from here to there. It’s gonna get a little hot but I think it’s gonna translate well into a great battle. Those are probably the two most arrogant niggas I’ve ever met… They really don’t wanna lose to each other, they wanna get that W. That battle right there, that shit might hit a million views in a week, bro.”

Continuing on the topic of Hitman Holla and Tsu Surf, Norbes says it’s more important that Surf walks away the victor because of the quality surrounding his last few battles.

“I would say right now Surf, due to the fact of his last few battles… I would say it’s a lot more important for Surf but Hitman is an arrogant-ass nigga,” he says. “He is not trying to take an L to Surf. Whoever wins this battle can boast, they can do whatever they want. And it’s on SMACK so you know how much bigger it’s gonna be. I’m excited for that battle, man. I ain’t gonna lie Hitman and Surf is crazy.”

Norbes then moves on to address Season 3 of the “Ultimate Freestyle Friday” series on BET, by first reiterating the card that features four battles with the winner facing Ill Will.

“Bracket A is Dot versus Brizz Rawsteen. Then the winner of that battle [faces] the winner of Xcel versus Anubis. On the other side it’s Prep versus Chess and Th3 Saga versus T Top.”

Norbes goes on to explain his reasoning behind each of the battles.

“Brizz versus Dot I came up with [because] if you’ve ever seen Dot live, it’s incredible. He is one of them dudes that just acts everything out, he’s very dope [and] his energy is high,” he explains. “I wanted to match somebody up with Brizz that can match his energy and Brizz is a real lyrical dude, he’s fire. You’re facing somebody that makes you perform a lot more and that’s why I put that battle together. If you’ve seen Dot live, man, Dot’s a problem…”

“[With] Anubis versus Xcel you got two dudes that are just level beasts. They just go back-and-forth, they go crazy. That battle you gonna have to rewind a 100 times. They gonna spaz on each other so that’s how I came up with that battle.”

“[With] Th3 Saga versus T Top it’s like you’ve got two different worlds. Th3 Saga is a Christian and he preaches the word, his approach is totally different against a guy like T Top who’s basically talking that street shit: hustling, drugs, shootin’ niggas and he’s probably the best at that. So now you’ve got two different worlds kind of coming together. You’ve got The Lord [and] Christianity against this nigga talking that street shit. The contrasting styles and what they’re really talking about is gonna be retarded.”

“Then Chess and Prep, man — I love Chess, I think Chess is phenomenal. It’s a big test for Chess to be honest with you, he probably is the biggest underdog on the card because you’re facing Prep. Prep may be the most polished dude on the card. If you’re talking about freestyle ability, lyricism, set-ups [and] when he punch, he punches hard. Chess is up against a monster but he’s a 16-year-old kid that got it [so] let’s see if he got it against Prep, I think it’s an exciting battle.”
