Lush One Speaks On Dizaster’s Ban From King Of The Dot

EXCLUSIVE: “No disrespect to Organik [but] 1,000 per cent I fucks with Diz and he’s gonna get paid 50 to 75 racks next time he battles,” says Lush One.

With Dizaster’s recent announcement that he’ll be battling Cassidy on the Fresh Coast/FilmOn platform in December, many fans have been wondering about the status of his ban from King of the Dot.

Dizaster was hit with a lifetime ban after he punched Math Hoffa at KOTD’s Battle Of Los Angeles 5 in June. However, the league added that the ban could be reduced to a one-year suspension if Dizaster made a public, genuine apology and paid a $2,500 fine.

Fresh Coast representative Lush One spoke exclusively to BattleRap.com before the Cassidy announcement to discuss Dizaster’s ban, saying: “Dizaster is still suspended from King Of The Dot. What the suspension detailed [is that] he has to apologize and reimburse $2,500 to get unsuspended [and] I know he has plans to do both of those things. They’re both gonna go down.”

As Lush One goes on to explain, Dizaster has been the “catalyst for success” for various battle leagues including Grind Time and King Of The Dot.

“He is one of the people that built this culture and is literally a symbol for battle rap in the West Coast. If you look at Dizaster, he’s responsible for the numbers that got brought to Grind Time,” Lush One explains. “He’s responsible for the numbers that got brought to King Of The Dot. There’s no way around that shit. If you take Dizaster’s three least-viewed battles on King Of The Dot, you can still put them against anyone else’s top three and he’s still better. He is the catalyst of success. He’s the only battle rapper that’s been trending on fuckin’ Google, ever. When he battled Canibus, it fuckin’ folded the Internet in half. When he did the unthinkable, unexpected fuckin’ atrocity with his stupid-ass and fuckin’ hit Math Hoffa it folded the Internet in half. In many ways Dizaster is to a lot of people larger than battling and the fact that he represents a whole contingent of people as the West Coast’s voice, him and Daylyt being the voice of the West, and then him being literally one of the most prominent Middle Eastern artists in battle rap or Hip Hop period that holds such a huge responsibility.”

“Regardless of his status with King Of The Dot, regardless of me being a liaison and working directly with King Of The Dot, I cannot allow Dizaster to not get paid,” Lush continues. “I will do whatever I can to help Dizaster. I’m rocking with him, no disrespect to Organik [but] 1,000 per cent I fucks with Diz and he’s gonna get paid 50 to 75 racks next time he battles ‘cause he fuckin’ deserves it and it’s not fair that he hasn’t already. I don’t give a fuck what anybody else says and when this shit happens remember this conversation.”

Directly addressing Dizaster’s ban from KOTD, Lush One said the league “had to do something” with the battle community demanding punishment following Diz’s actions.

“We were under, as a company, as King Of The Dot, we were under so much scrutiny from the community at that moment and everybody wanted action,” Lush said. “Beyond the whole ‘No-Fly Zone’ shit and people trying to get extra down and gangster, I’m more looking at it as a businessman, I don’t give a fuck about all that shit. What I’m tripping on is, ‘Oh damn, East Coast artists might feel some type of way about battling here in the future. East Coast companies might not wanna book West Coast artists and vice versa.’ So that’s my concern and in order to supersede that and quell that whole turmoil that was pending, we had to do something… However they decided to move, I support [it], but at the same time I can’t sit there and allow Dizaster to not fuckin’ eat and the West Coast to lose our fuckin’ biggest star due to technicalities and politics. That’s ultimately what it is.”

After Dizaster officially announced his battle with Philadelphia emcee Cassidy, some members of the battle rap community took to Twitter to voice their frustrations pertaining to Dizaster’s ban not sticking.
