Tsu Surf Says Hitman Holla Battle Is "The Last Grudge Match"

Surf also says he's already faced Daylyt for Snoop Dogg's "Gladiator School" event in a battle that is "something totally different."

Calling in to AngryFans Radio for a heated conversation about his place in the industry, Tsu Surf predicted a victory in his upcoming battle against Hitman Holla, calling the battle “the last grudge match in battle rap.” Surf also confirmed that his battle against Daylyt for Snoop Dogg's "Gladiator School" event has already happened.

“The battle community need to understand about me and Daylyt,” he said. “It’s not like a regular battle. It’s almost damn-near a experiment. I don’t wanna spill the beans but it’s something totally different than everyday battling. It’s not one bit like a regular one-rounder that you’ve seen to date. It’s something very, very different and big. But yes, we were a one-rounder. This happened about two days ago, Tuesday I think it was. Yeah, Tuesday in California.”

Speaking at length about the Hitman Holla match-up, Tsu Surf said he is in a better place now than before his last two battles against Calicoe and Charlie Clips.

“Hitman better be the best Hitman Hitman ever was,” he said. “Period. If anybody can fuck Hitman up, Hitman know exactly who can do it. I don’t give a fuck. You can scrap our whole first twenty minutes... If anybody can knock Hitman’s fucking head off it’s Tsu Surf. Period... This is a clean, fresh Tsu Surf walking into Summer Madness with three months [preparation time] just like Hitman Holla. Tsu Surf don’t talk a lot. This ain’t the Tsu Surf that signed a contract for three minutes against Charlie Clips and Charlie Clips didn’t sign the contract at all and had six minute rounds. This not that Tsu Surf. This is the Tsu Surf that is actually ready and prepped and getting ready for Summer Madness just as well as Hitman Holla. I’m gonna fuck Hitman up.”

Breaking down his place in the industry more generally, Surf claimed that he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

“I’m getting [paid] double digits after my fifth year of battling,” he said. “Never went down in no type of way, shape, or form. I’m about to headline Summer Madness 4, so Surf feel fine. As far as regularly, niggas will turn on you in a minute as far as battle rap go.”

Surf also distinguished his strengths from Hitman’s, saying, “we can’t sit here and have a conversation about Tsu Surf bars and Hitman Holla bars. That conversation is very short. If everybody on the phone is avid battle rap followers, Tsu Surf bar-for-bar versus Hitman Holla is a no contest. With me saying that, if you wanna say performance-wise Surf against Hitman is a no contest, I’ll take that. Anybody that avidly follows battle rap knows Tsu Surf vs. Hitman Holla is a no contest bar-for-bar. That’s not even a fight. He’s gonna have a lot of bars on his head.”

Shying away from a 3-0 evaluation, Surf gave his opponent credit for a penchant for first rounds.

“Hitman Holla loses, period,” he said. “I really wanna say 3-0, but I believe in his first round. I believe in his first round. This is too much time. I’ve never had this much time for a battle in God knows how long. Enough time to sit and put this together. I was touring while getting ready for Conceited. Getting ready for Clips I was going [through stuff]... That nigga is dead. Niggas better place their bets the right way, that’s all I’m gonna say. If I don’t attend that event you got a definite Hitman win but other than that you might be a fool to put money on that nigga. This is the last grudge match in battle rap. There was three big battles of the summer: Mook vs. Lux, Joe Budden vs. Hollow, and Hitman vs. Surf. There’s nothing bigger than that in the world. There’s no battle bigger than this. Even the Dizaster, nobody wants that shit. Dizaster gon’ kill him, but Hitman and Surf is what matters.”
