Aye Verb Expects Lyrics Over Antics From Daylyt Battle

The St. Louis veteran will face Daylyt at Go-Rilla Warfare's "Blueprint" event on September 20.

In a recent interview on the "PG Bloggers" YouTube channel, Aye Verb spoke about his upcoming clash with Daylyt at Go-Rilla Warfare’s two-day "Blueprint" event in Chicago. The St. Louis vet put forward some thoughts on the match-up for the event that also features Charlie Clips vs. Big Kannon, Cortez vs. Young Kannon and Head I.C.E vs. X-Factor.

Aye Verb explained in his interview that he isn't taking a battle with Day lightly. “A lot of people, they be blind to the magical shit that he does,” Verb explains. “But when I first met Daylyt in 2009, I said ‘oh, this nigga cold.’ So it’s definitely a fear that goes through you, like, 'oh no, this nigga is worth the shit.' You know what I'm saying? So this ain’t one of them type of things where you're like, 'I don’t think he dangerous.' Oh no, that nigga dangerous.”

Verb also says he's amped to see what his opponent will bring for him. “I be excited to hear what people create for me.” Verb says. “See, y’all don’t go on the stage. When you go on the stage, if I don’t feel a cramp, I’m not worried about it. See, when someone’s going off, it’s a pain that goes through your side. It’s like ‘Ooh, this is what I’m talking about, shit.’"

Verb said he's bracing himself for the standard antics and theatricality Daylyt tends to bring but is expecting a straightforward battle. "I don’t think he’s coming for that... But I think that if that buzz go off, he will. Know what I’m saying? So, y’know, we gon’ see.”

While he’s confident that Daylyt will focus on lyrics more than antics, Verb may bust out an antic of his own with his infamous shiny coat collection rearing its ugly head: “I might do glitter pink. I might do nude or some shit like that," he joked.

For the event, Verb says he's particularly excited about what may be the starkest style clash in the line-up. “I really wanna see Danny [Myers] and JC too… Danny is relentless, you know what I’m saying? He’s a pit bull. He don’t let up. JC is smooth like water. So we gon’ see what comes back from that.”

The event goes down September 20th just south of Chicago.
