In a story published last week, Cassidy revealed to VladTV that he was getting paid a sum in the region of $250,000 to battle Dizaster at Fresh Coast/FilmOn’s “Ether” event in December.
However, after the press conference for the match-up last Thursday (September 4), Dizaster spoke with VladTV and addressed the compensation his opponent is receiving for the battle.
“He’s not getting that. Nah. But he’s getting a lot,” Dizaster explains. “That’s not the number, no. Rappers always up it up a little bit. I guess it’s part of—I think it’s an East Coast rapper thing like, ‘Yeah, man, I got paid a billion dollars for my last battle.’ All them fools do that shit. [Murda] Mook, [Aye] Verb all of them just fuckin’ lie, DNA, they all lie about how much money they get, every single one of them."
Reacting to this story, Fresh Coast rep Aspect One maintained that Cassidy is making what he says he is.
Speaking about whether his own payday is similar to Cassidy's, Dizaster tells VladTV: “I wouldn’t say near it but I’m happy as fuck."
Cassidy recently discussed being the underdog going into the battle against Dizaster saying only those with “no common sense” believe he going to lose. Addressing a similar question, Diz says they’re both underdogs.
“I think we’re both underdogs and I think we’re both not,” he says. “It’s weird. I don’t really know if there’s an underdog right now. I’m an underdog to his fan base and he’s an underdog to my fan base, you know what I mean?”
Finally, Dizaster says his battle against Cassidy will be “the hardest” he’s ever gone at any other battler.
“It’s going to be interesting, bro… I’m gonna kill him,” Dizaster says. “This is going to be the hardest I go at anybody. I don’t think anyone understands. Compared to whatever I’ve wrote to anybody else before, this is going to be 50 percent. I actually, genuinely wanna fuckin’ body him. I’ve never really felt like that about somebody where it’s to the point where it’s like, ‘I really need to kill you.’”
