Dizaster Says Cassidy Won't Be His Strongest Opponent Ever

Dizaster also weighs in on the upcoming battle between Mike Jones and Bone Crusher.

Last week, Dizaster caught up with HipHopVancouver to discuss his upcoming battle with Cassidy at Fresh Coast/FilmOn’s “Ether” event in December.

In the interview, Dizaster agrees that Cassidy jumping in the ring is similar to when street brawler Kimbo Slice entering the UFC arena.

“Yeah, man, it’s kind of like that,” Dizaster says of the analogy. “You battle four or five times a day but against nobodys. You’re battling dudes in the street that don’t have conditioning. Once you really knock out four or five dudes that have been conditioned is when you can say that you really got that. I definitely look at it like how you saying. [Cassidy’s] coming from some street boxing to some real MMA shit. I hope he’s ready, his confidence is insane as you’ve seen right there in the press conference.”

“Battles are all about match-ups that make sense, bro, that’s why I’m battling Cassidy right now,” he continues. “That’s who I need to be battling. That’s the next step for me, I’ve killed everybody, bro.”

Dizaster goes on to say that his upcoming battle against Cassidy is not going to be his toughest challenge.

“Hell yeah, I’d be frontin’ if I said it wasn’t. It’s gonna be my biggest battle and it’s gonna not be my biggest challenge. I’d say he’s gonna be [in] my Top 5 challenges ever. He won’t be my strongest opponent ever.”

Addressing the recently announced battle at MC WAR’s “New World Order II” on Sept. 28 between Mike Jones and Bone Crusher, Dizaster says “he’s not hating” as it’s “opening the door.”

“[Laughs] Yo, I ain’t even hating on Mike Jones and Bone Crusher. I think that’s funny. I think that’s good that they’re doing that … If you’re mad that Bone Crusher and Mike Jones are battling, you need to stand back and stop being selfish about it. Stop being jealous or just [like], ‘Ah, we don’t want this!’ Or whatever it is you think because if you are a battler and someone like Mike Jones and Bone Crusher battle, what they’re doing is they’re opening the door for you,” Dizaster explains.

“They are creating a situation where they become food because us in the industry we’ve always had this respect barrier where we come around industry cats — I’m not about to come around Drake and be like, ‘Ah! Hop in the battle,’ you do the music [and] I do the battle thing. You can’t disrespect Mike Jones or whoever it is, you can’t run up on them and battle them out of nowhere because they’re musicians but once they step into our world, they just open the door that is never going to be shut again. Now every single battler has the right to check them when he sees them, to battle them on the spot, to challenge them to a battle [because] they are now food, anybody who does that, now you’re putting yourself in the pit.”

Elsewhere Dizaster discusses the first season of "Total Slaughter” and names Eminem and Nas as his two favorite industry artists.
