Legendary West Coast battle league "The Jungle" is making a comeback.
Original founder Fox is relaunching the platform on Sept. 20 at Anderson Park in Stockton, Calif. with help from league alumni Okwerdz and Conceited. This first event will be a day of BBQ and battles where aspiring emcees can try out for consideration on future cards. The flyer also promises "surprise guest battlers."
The Jungle (also known as "Da Jungle") was a major part of West Coast battle rap for a few years around 2009-2012, first as an affiliate of Grindtime and then as a URL division. It produced its fair share of stars as well, launching the careers of Conceited, QP, Heartless, Tall T, Cocky, Ab Hogish and more.
