Top Tweets From Snoop Dogg’s Gladiator School

What Twitter was saying during the battles in Atlanta at the BET Hip Hop Awards’ weekend festivities.

The eyes of the battle rap community shone down on Atlanta on Friday night (Sept. 19) as Snoop Dogg, in conjunction with Murda Mook, hosted “Gladiator School.”

Besides attending the event, BattleRap.com had its fingers on the pulse of what went down via Twitter and has consolidated the night’s top tweets into one convenient feed for your viewing pleasure.

If you haven't read them already, check out our preview and full recap of the event.

Before The Event

Prior to the doors opening we ran into legendary emcee Busy Bee Starski. Click here to watch him talk about his classic 1981 battle at Harlem World in Manhattan against Kool Moe Dee.

Elsewhere, here is what other people got up to.

Last minute promotion pushes by Snoop Dogg’s co-host Murda Mook.

John John Da Don took to Twitter to display his confidence going into his battle with Arsonal.

“Total Slaughter” judge and Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9 wasn’t shy on social media throughout the night but posted this tweet before the festivities began.

Couture, who faced Phara Funeral later on in the evening, posted this photo with Murda Mook, Arsonal and Calicoe.

Bizarre from D12 put up this picture with Royce Da 5’9, Daylyt, Nelly and Mr. Porter.

Followed by this next one. Is the potential Daylyt vs. Bizarre battle picking up some momentum?

Male Battles

Hitman Holla vs. Calicoe

Royce Da 5’9 said Calicoe put out one of his best rounds ever and that he caught “the body of the night.”

Hitman Holla admitted Calicoe swayed the crowd with his performance, and referenced the real match on his mind, against Tsu Surf at Summer Madness 4.

BattleRap.com pointed out that next week's battle has more at stake.

Here’s what Marv Won thought:

Daylyt seems to agree with both Marv Won and Royce Da 5’9 saying Calicoe won “9-0.”

Arsonal vs. John John Da Don

Despite being the last battle to happen that night, Arsonal versus John John Da Don was undoubtedly the best, with Arsonal picking up the victory.

John John Da Don says some of his bars were slept on.

Here’s Daylyt reaching out to 106 & Park host Bow Wow to try and get John John a job at BET following his performance against Arsonal.

B Magic vs. Young B The Future

Despite being the least known emcee on the card, Young B put on what many are saying was the performance of the night against B Magic.

Royce Da 5’9 says many of B Magic’s bars were slept on.

T-Rex vs. Rum Nitty

As we mentioned earlier, Royce Da 5’9 wasn’t shy over Twitter last night. Here’s what he said about T-Rex’s performance against Rum Nitty.

Battle rap commentator Chris Unbias said T-Rex “cooked” Rum Nitty in the first round.

Female Battles

Despite the male-dominated card, there were three female battles featuring various regulars from Queen Of The Ring.

Although she wasn’t preforming, Jaz The Rapper took to Twitter to announce her three winners of the female match-ups.

Bonnie Godiva followed suit by also sending out her winners.

Phara Funeral vs. Couture

A funeral with Phara Funeral? Nope. Check out Phara Funeral’s reply below:

URL staff member Nunu Nellz posted this picture to congratulate both Phara and Couture on a “classic” performance.

Ms. Murk vs. Chayna Ashley

Marv Won says Chayna Ashley was focused and that her peers weren’t matching up.

E Hart vs. O’fficial

Here’s what O’fficial said after her performance against E Hart.

The Internet reception may not have been great, but O’fficial’s performance was definitely, as Jaz said, “wildin.”
