Norbes Discusses Ill Will’s Replacement Opponent

The URL rep also says Arsonal did them a favor by pulling out of the Summer Madness 4 battle against Ill Will.

Earlier this month, New Jersey battler Arsonal took to Twitter to announce that he would be withdrawing from his battle against Ill Will at “Summer Madness 4” on Sept. 28.

Soon after the news broke of Arsonal’s withdrawal from the event, the battle rap community began to ask who his replacement might be. This issue was later addressed by SMACK/URL rep Eric Beasley who revealed that Arsonal would be replaced by a mystery opponent and that Ill Will’s new challenger would be revealed on the day of the event.

In a newly published interview with VladTV, URL’s Norbes discussed Arsonal’s replacement at SM4 saying “the building is gonna shake” when Ill Will’s new opponent appears on stage. He also goes on to reveal that he was never a fan of the original Arsonal vs. Ill Will battle as he felt that it didn’t make sense.

“The replacement is gonna be crazy,” Norbes says. “I think that battle — when those guys walk out on stage, the building is gonna shake … When these guys walk out, people are gonna go fuckin’ crazy.”

“I didn’t like the Ill Will/Arsonal battle to be honest with you, I didn’t think it made sense,” he continues. “[With] most of the battles on [the card], it’s something built-up like [Charlie] Clips and [T-Rex], they were taking shots at each other for a while. Conceited and [B Magic] it’s like, ‘Who’s the punchline king?’ Even Tay Roc and DNA, they were going back-and-forth. So with [Arsonal and Ill Will] it was kind of like, ‘Okay?’ I didn’t get it. The replacement situation is gonna be crazy. It’s a way better battle and it’s gonna shock a lot of people … Arsonal kind of did us a favor to be honest. Now I’m really excited, I wanna watch every battle.”

Later on in the interview, Norbes breaks down the battles between Aye Verb and John John Da Don and Tay Roc vs. DNA.

“I really wanna see the [Aye] Verb battle vs. John John [Da Don]. You got the two bad guys of battle rap,” Norbes explains. “The two people that people wanna hate on most is Verb and John John. We were watching the John John [vs.] Reed [Dollaz] and John John said ‘Yo’ and niggas was like ‘Boo!’ And I’m like, ‘Bro, what the fuck? This nigga ain’t even start rapping!’ And I remember, Verb wasn’t even battling and Hitman [Holla] was on stage and Hitman mentioned Verb’s name and niggas started booing Verb. So it’s like two niggas that everybody loves to hate so who are you gonna hate more in that battle?”

“Tay [Roc]’s on a streak too, Tay not playing,” continues Norbes. “If Tay calls you out [or] if Tay takes a shot at you, Tay’s on some, ‘I’m coming for you,’ I haven’t seen a wack Tay Roc performance. And DNA’s on a roll. DNA wanna kill every Smack [White] favorite … He like, ‘Fuck it, I’ma kill another one of Smack’s niggas.’ He wanna kill everybody Smack co-signing.”
