Danny Myers Calls For Norbes' Impeachment

Danny Myers says Norbes is tainting the URL brand with public comments about personal business.

Days after Angryfan released a blog accusing Norbes of “abusing his power” as a brand ambassador for URL by “dragging Danny Myers on” Twitter, Facebook, and during interviews, Danny Myers dropped a blog of his own.

Myers details his early discussions with Norbes, claiming that the league talent scout initiated a business relationship privately through Twitter before sidestepping when a contract wasn’t agreeable.

“Greetings my fellow Americans,” Myers says in the video. “I, Danny La Shawn Myers, call for the impeachment of Streetstar Norbes. For y'all to understand why I say this, we must first start at the beginning. I’m on Twitter one day, I get a direct message from Streetstar Norbes. I’m like, ‘Oh shit. Streetstar Norbes is dm’ing me his number.' He said call him. I call him up. ‘Yo, what’s good?’ ‘Yo, Danny, I never really seen none of your footage but a lot of people on the street been telling me I should give you a PG.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, just so happens that I’m about to battle John John Da Don, I’ll tell you what, this is an opportunity for me to showcase my skill to you. I’m willing to fly you out to Vegas for you to check me out in person.’ ‘Yo, if you could do that that’s cool. I’ll come out.’ Booked the ticket, he came out, watched me battle John John. After the battle he’s like, ‘Yo, you’re dope. You’re crazy. I’m gonna give you a PG.’ I got the battle with Jay Rell.”

Myers goes on to explain that Norbes pushed a contract on him that conflicted with his previously scheduled battles, effectively limiting his appearances and publicity to URL events. When he tried to alter the contract to accommodate, Myers said the agreement fell apart but that he was still willing to appear on URL cards sans the explicit agreement.

“Let me tell you something about Streestar Norbes, this dude is an opportunist,” he said. “This dude is not the guy he portrays himself to be in your face. Yeah he calls me disloyal because I said I would sign the contract and I didn’t ... Ain’t nothing wrong with contracts. Ain’t nothing wrong with signing the contract. Contracts make perfect sense. URL is making perfect sense with what they’re doing with contracts ... I understand that. I understand, ain’t nothing with a contract. I just felt since we could not see eye-to-eye on the contract we would just do old-fashioned style, let’s just do it on a handshake ‘cause I’m a man of my word. I am a man of my word. I thought me and Norbes was friends outside of the battle rap shit. It was a time when he went on vacation and was kind of short on cash and he called me and I sent him, Western Union, money to him. Never asked for the money back. Don’t need the money back.”

Since the rift, Norbes has publicly derided Myers. In his video, Myers reacts, speaking on Norbes' status at URL.

“I’m not telling nobody what to do,” he said. “I’m just saying, as a fan, as a person of the culture, as a battler, as a person who loves this, as a person who really loves this. I’m just saying, something has to be done about Streetstar Norbes. He’s making the prestigious brand of URL, he’s tainting it. He’s making it look pretty bad. And this just ain’t: I have a problem with Norbes. This is several other prominent league owners, rappers, media people, who have a problem with Norbes. Nobody’s talking about Beasley. Nobody’s talking about Smack. Nobody’s talking about Chico. Nobody’s talking about nobody else. Everybody that has a problem, has a problem with Norbes.

"The URL is a well-oiled machine, they know what the fuck they doing. It’s Smack, Chico, Beasley, whoever else is behind the scenes. And then, there’s the black sheep, Norbes. He’s the bad gear in their machine. Something gotta be done. Something has to be done. I don’t know. I don’t ever have to rap on URL again. I don’t got nothing to lose. I got to stand up and say something. Somebody got to say something and do something about this shit. Several prominent league owners have expressed personally to me their disdain for Norbes’ tactics and his ways and the way he conducts himself as a man. It’s not proper. It is not beneficial to the URL. I don’t think it’s beneficial to the fans, I don’t think it's beneficial to the culture.”

Norbes seemed to shrug off the complaints in a recent Instagram post, saying simply, “I appreciate the promo.”

He went on to address the situation in passing, apparently calling Myers a liar and promising "to expose the real."
