The Best Battle Rap Costumes

In honor of Halloween, we run down some of the wildest and weirdest costumes that have been worn in rap battles.

Don’t know what you’re going to be for Halloween yet? Maybe one of these battle rappers can give you an idea.

Here are some of battle rap’s biggest costumed moments:

Daylyt vs. Zo Green vs. Pep

When Daylyt participated in QueenzFlip’s Quietroom battle, he dressed up as Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z. His main Batmobile at the time, Universe The King, was alongside him dressed as Vegeta’s accomplice, Nappa.

Daylyt vs. T-Rex

Remember the Total Slaughter event that went down last July? Well, when Daylyt went up against T-Rex in front of what was one of battle rap’s biggest audiences he dressed as Spawn (at least until he stripped down in the third round). It was actually a pretty legit costume.

Daylyt vs. Real Deal

In Daylyt’s antic at "Duel In The Desert," he dressed in a headless horseman costume when he went up against Real Deal in October. BattleRap.com still has his “head” as a souvenir at our office.

Day has also dressed as Batman, Neo from The Matrix and as Michael Jackson's "Thriller" persona, but you get the idea already.

Daylyt vs. Interstate Fatz

One of Daylyt’s most controversial costumes was this multi-layered KKK/Jesus get-up he wore in a tense battle against Interstate Fatz. Apparently, Daylyt had a “deeper meaning” behind this costume, saying he wanted it to portray “white-on-white crime.”

Deffinition vs. Pamflit

Ever wonder what the Joker and Batman would sound like with British accents? Well wonder no longer! Deffinition and Pamflit geared up and squared off for the main event of Don't Flop's 2012 April Fools event.

Notez vs. Wize Guy

Notez busts out a prisoner's jumpsuit (reportedly his own from his time inside) in this battle against Wize Guy at KOTD’s Ground Zero.

K-Shine vs. DNA

At a Smack/URL battle between K-Shine and DNA, K-Shine decided to switch it up in the third round. He brings out a poster board breaking down the “DNA” of the human body and disguises himself as a science professor, goggles and all. Many fans consider the “Professor Shine” round as one of best-executed concept rounds ever.

Joe Cutter vs. Tiger Ty

In an attempt to prove that he is better than Ty in every way, Joe Cutter "out-tigers" his opponent with a full body suit. Ty brings a costume of his own too, dressing as The Great Tiger from the 80s Nintendo game Mike Tyson's Punch Out

Illmaculate vs. Aye Verb

At KOTD’s “Battle Of LA 5,” Illmaculate busted out his “nerd” persona against Aye Verb by putting on a pair of thick-rimmed glasses. It's not necessarily the most elaborate costume, but he gets bonus points for getting into character and spitting “nerd bars.”

Gattas vs. Ms Hustle

Young Gattas showed up to URL's "Night Of Main Events 4" dressed as Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft, braided hair and all, against her opponent Ms. Hustle.

Munky Man vs. Big Jinya

For some reason, Munky Man dresses as, well, a monkey in his battles. He dances and talks like one too.

Goodz & DNA

Goodz posted a comical diss blog mocking Aye Verb before their battle at Smack/URL’s NOME4. Goodz dresses as Aye Verb and DNA imitates Ill Will, his own opponent for the event.
