During a newly released interview with VladTV, URL representative Norbes speculated on a theoretical battle between YMCMB artist Drake and Harlem lyricist Murda Mook. Rumors about the two facing off have been around since August when Mook posted a photo on Instagram saying Drake was interested in battling. Mook then threw gas on the fire by calling Drake out in a live cypher at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Despite the rumors, Norbes says he doesn't think Drake actually wants to step inside the battle arena.
“I don’t think they in talks, bro. Nah,” explains Norbes. “I think Drake is an impulse guy. I think he seen [Murda] Mook and was like, ‘Yo, I’ll do it.’ But in reality, I don’t think he wanna do it.”
Though he doesn't think the battle will actually go down, Norbes does say that Drake would win the match-up.
“But I will say this and Mook is gonna kill me for this [but] I think Drake will beat him,” he says. “I’m gonna name two emcees I think that can make the transition and it’s Drake and it’s King Los. [Those] are the only two that I think can make the transition. I think Drake can really rap. And I think if Mook and Drake were to battle, I believe Drake is the better rapper. I believe that Mook still battles a little dated and that’ll even it out for them. If I was to sit there and say, ‘Yo, who’s the better rapper?’ I think Drake is Top 3 in the world right now.”
Elsewhere, Norbes says that Baltimore rapper King Los is another artist who could successfully make the transition and enter the world of battle rap.

“I think King Los would body mad niggas to be honest with you. I think that nigga’s cold blooded. Prep put me onto him. I was listening to him and I was like, ‘Who the fuck is this nigga?’ But after I heard him I was like, ‘Yo, this dude is the truth.’ So if I had to pick them, I’d pick those two.”
Continuing on the subject of Drake, Norbes says that the Young Money artist would be successful and subsequently questions what angle Murda Mook would take against him.
“I really do believe that Drake will make a very good transition and if he were to battle Mook, that would be dope. That’d be a good look. That’d be a fuckin’ great look for Mook. I know Drake really watches this shit, bro. Drake can really go … When I hear Drake, I think he’s this era. I really do believe Drake would be the one to make the transition and be successful. That nigga can flat out rap. He doesn’t talk about drugs, he don’t give a fuck, he just can flat out rap. You know how difficult it is to be a successful artist and not talk about that shit? What the fuck is Mook gon’ tell Drake? I can almost guarantee you [that] he know as much shit about Mook as Mook knows about Drake.”
