Shotty Horroh vs. Yung Ill Cancelled

Don't Flop lose the second headline battle for their "Sixth Birthday Weekend" days before the event.

Just days after it was announced that the title match between Tony D and Unanymous was cancelled (and replaced by Unanymous vs. Soul) for Don’t Flop’s “Sixth Birthday Weekend,” another headlining battle has been axed.

Shotty Horroh took to Twitter today (Nov. 13) to announce that his match-up against Yung Ill, that was scheduled to go down on Day 1 of the weekend this Saturday (Nov. 15), has fallen through. Shotty’s tweets can be seen below:

(The St. Louis reference applies to Aye Verb no-showing against Shotty at KOTD's "Blackout 4" in January.)

Although no confirmed reports have yet been released, Shotty Horroh tweeted that his opponent was unaware of the time difference between America and the United Kingdom.

As of the time of publishing, there’s been no activity from Yung Ill on social media, however, Shotty Horroh released a string of tweets regarding the cancellation.

After the news broke, battlers from both sides of the pond weighed in on the matter. Check out some of their tweets below:

Brockton, Mass. lyricist Xcel offered to step in to replace Yung Ill. Shotty has hinted at wanting to battle Xcel in the past but declined the offer here.

Big J, who is going up against Uno Lavoz on Day 1 of the event, also addressed the cancellation.

Marlo, who is preparing to defend his Doubles Title with Shuffle-T against Dialect & Zen, requested that the battle still happen with a papier mâché version of Yung Ill on stage.

Uno Lavoz tweeted to up the ante for his match-up with Big J.

Chilla Jones also confirmed that he'd still be making it to Leeds.

Don't Flop addressed the cancellation on Facebook, posting:

Due to work complications on Yung Ill's side, he is no longer able to attend Sixth Birthday Weekend.
We will either be rearranging the battle for the same event as Tony D Vs Unanymous, or if not, doing our best to secure Shotty Horroh in another battle for that event. All 6BW ticket holders will receive discounted entry to this event.
Shotty will still be at the event performing live and spending time with his fans who have came out to see him.
Bonnie Godiva's attendance is currently 50/50 due to circumstances which were brought to our attention earlier today, but at the moment we are doing our best to make the battle still happen as it is possible. We won't know the outcome of this until sometime tomorrow at the moment but will keep everybody updated.
We have spent all day attempting to arrange local & international replacement battles, and will continue to do so right up until the event day, but so far have been unsuccessful and don't want to leave the fans in the dark any longer.
As we note at the beginning of every event, at the time of release the entire flyer is correct and confirmed. What happens between then and the event weekend is extremely unpredictable, and unexpected situations arise.
We have been very lucky some years, and very unlucky others. `
The line-up is still really strong and the event will be nothing less than amazing, like they always are. We will be keeping our minds open to all ideas of how to fill the slots now available on the days, and will be hoping to include some freestyle battles arranged on the spot, amongst other things.
Due to the severity of the last minute cancellations and the frustration the staff/fans are currently feeling, we have decided to offer every existing ticket holder one free extra weekend ticket for every ticket you have purchased, because we still want the atmosphere to be as positive as possible.
We hope in future our fans see why we can be reluctant to fly out some of your favourite battlers from around the world more than a handful of times per year, because the risk we are then faced with is too high.

Don’t Flop’s “Sixth Birthday Weekend” goes down this Nov. 15-16 at Stylus in Leeds, England.

We’ll be in the building so stay tuned for updates and interviews.
