Music Of The Week: Hollohan, Charlie Clips, Daylyt

Another edition of your battle rap mixtape.

While the battle rap world is still basking in the hype of FilmOn's massive "Ether" event, we're back with a catchup edition of the Battle Rap Music of the Week feature.

Hollohan - "Helping Each Other Die"

Hollohan's latest single, "Helping Each Other Die," chronicles the story of a couple struggling with addiction. "So now I ask myself, is this love? / Or are we just a couple of idiots addicted to drugs?" he raps.

The former KOTD champion is funding his next professional video from the proceeds from the song's purchases on iTunes and on his Bandcamp page.

Math Hoffa - "Nigga Like Me"

Math's new album, Pacjuice, is on the way next month. The project's first single, a thinly-veiled shot at Dizaster, finds Hoffa sounding tough as ever with a slightly different sound.

Sonny Bamboo - "Don't Flop Freestyle"

Repping Don't Flop USA in his own freestyle for the league's WEBHAM video series, Sonny Bamboo stopped by the booth around the time of his battle with DNA, which has also dropped on the same channel.

Flexplicit - "First Class #Highrise"

With a pounding beat and trippy animated video, Flexplicit's latest single is "First Class #Highrise." "There's nothing more powerful than an idea," he raps in a song about his ultimate come-up.

DNA - "Hells Kitchen"

Taking over DJ Khaled's "Hell's Kitchen," DNA dropped off his own freestyle at the top of the month. "I always had the urgency / Even when these niggas never heard of me," he raps. The busy-as-ever rapper has a mixtape on the way soon.

Charlie Clips & DNA - "We Are Strong Freestyle"

As 2014 winds down, Charlie Clips is returning his focus more and more to music after climbing to the top of many people's Top 5 list over the last 12 months. Here's Clips teaming up with fellow Harlem rapper and friend DNA for a freestyle video.

Daylyt - "2 Mics"

Through all the gimmicks and uproar they've caused, many have long known Daylyt as an incredible lyricist capable of serious introspection. Here's that side of him on the reality-checking track "2 Mics."

CJ City featuring Cortez - "Pursuit Of Happiness"

With an opening quote from the Will Smith movie, CJ City and Cortez teamed up for a single called "Pursuit Of Happiness," an inspirational track about being a go-getter.

Chayna Ashley - "Think B.I.G."

Channeling Biggie himself, female rapper Chayna Ashley pays homage to B.I.G. and visits his iconic mural in her latest video single "Think B.I.G."

Shotgun Suge - "Bando"

Suge is ending his 2014 strong and leaned on BlockCityTV for the release of his latest track, "Bando."

Young X - "32 Gun Salute"

Virginia native Young X linked up with The War Report for an acapella verse.
