UPDATE: Doesn't look like this is happening anymore.
Many months after their initial beef spilled over into the ring during their battle at KOTD's "Battle of L.A. 5" in which Dizaster punched Math Hoffa in the face, a Celebrity Boxing promoter has offered to broker an official three-round boxing match between the two battle rappers.
Some fans might recall that the owner of AHAT offered the rappers $10,000 to fight a couple of days after the battle but nothing came of it. Both rappers seemed to agree to this new offer on Twitter on Wednesday once a $500,000 figure started floating around, but the latest is that no exact purse has been confirmed.
Speaking with BattleRap.com on Wednesday morning, Celebrity Boxing owner Damon "The Promoter" Feldman announced that Math Hoffa had agreed to the fight and he was waiting for a response from Dizaster.
"I was always interested in the battle rap because I love hip hop and I tried to make fights with Gillie Da Kid versus Soulja Boy. Drake, Chris Brown," he said. "This seems like it sells. They got the controversy. This is just a natural because you saw the video. The one guy snuck the other guy."
Detailing the negotiations, Feldman said, "We're halfway there."
"I've been talking to both of them on the phone," he added. "I'm just waiting to hear back — really, it's all in Dizaster's hands right now because [Math Hoffa] is in. 100%. He's 100%. That's the guy on the receiving end of the punch."
Feldman says the fight would likely be held in Los Angeles if Dizaster agrees and also suggested that Floyd Mayweather Sr. would be a possible referee.
On Wednesday evening, he told BattleRap.com over Twitter: "I'm in heavy talks n I think it's gonna happen the numbers will be talked about but this has great potential."
Also of note, Damon has a previous working relationship with FilmOn owner Alki David, the billionaire heir behind the Dizaster/Cassidy match-up at "Ether." David and Feldman were also involved with the controversial George Zimmerman/DMX boxing match that was ultimately cancelled. When asked if David would be involved in the possible Diz vs. Math bout, the promoter admitted "it's up in the air."
"I don't know," he said. "I gotta talk to Alki. We've always done good business. I know they had some issues or whatever. I don't know yet. It's up in the air. He's a friend."
Here's Feldman and David promoting a potential match between Chris Brown and Drake in 2012:
Separately, Diz and Math's beef lit up on Twitter on Tuesday with Cortez throwing his own salt into old wounds after Dizaster accused of him of stealing lines.
