BattleRap.com caught up with Ness Lee on Day 2 of “Battle Of The 7,” where the Atlanta emcee faced off against Swave Sevah on the undercard for Arsonal vs. Mistah F.A.B. Ness discussed the recent issues he had with Daylyt, revealing that the two have since squared their differences.
Late last year, Daylyt was scheduled to battle Ness Lee at Scrambles4Money’s “Event Horizon” in Johannesburg, South Africa. Due to the death of someone in his family, Daylyt had to subsequently cancel that match-up at the last-minute, leaving Ness to battle S4M host Gin Grimes on only a few days notice.
“At the end of the day, I gotta say nothing but respect to him because he came up to me and talked to me like a man," Ness Lee says. "When we first saw each other, I walked in, I ain’t even shake his hand [and] I said, ‘We gotta talk,’ and then I got onstage.”
"He said it was his step pops," Ness Lee says regarding Daylyt’s reasoning for not travelling to South Africa. “Some gang shit happened. Me personally, I thought he was trolling. So when he told me that he cancelled the battle and I saw him on camera the next day at the rescheduled [Dizaster vs. Cassidy] joint, I was like, ‘I need the fade, man, we gotta box.’"
“At the end of the day like I said, I’ve got nothing but respect [for Daylyt],” Ness adds. “He came at me and hollered at me like a man, man. I told him like, ‘Yo, I was ready to box. I was ready to get jumped. I would have got Grape Street-jumped but we straightened it out.”
Ness Lee Calls Performance Against Swave Sevah “First Clear Loss”
Ness Lee also weighed in on his performance against Swave Sevah at BOTB7.
“I think it’s my first clear loss, man. I’m not gonna lie, man … I choked, man. I choked in the first round … By the time I won [the crowd] over and started cooking I choked. I came back in the second round [and] I was swinging. My second round was crazy, I’m not gonna lie, man. My second round may be one of my best rounds.”
Ness also revealed tentative plans to possibly battle Math Hoffa in South Africa sometime soon.
