Caustic Recaps Battle Against Head I.C.E

Caustic calls his battle with Head I.C.E an “awesome experience.”

During Day 2 of Teddy Grizzle/King Of The Dot’s “Battle Of The Bay 7” event last week, Caustic battled Harlem’s Head I.C.E in a match-up that many questioned because of the unusual style clash.

BattleRap.com spoke with the Bay Area battler after the match-up to get his thoughts and to discuss how the battle came about.

“[Mistah] F.A.B. was real adamant about getting me on the card so it was just kinda like ‘by any means necessary.’ When they offered me I.C.E I was like, ‘Yo, that’s awesome.’ It’s an awesome experience, you know what I mean?”

“I thought it was tight, man,” Caustic said of the battle. “I feel like I need a Head I.C.E translator. There was times I looked at him and I was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re saying. I have no idea what you are fucking talking about right now.’ [The slang] is so different."

Earlier in the conversation, Caustic spoke on what it's like to battle in front of his hometown crowd.

“It’s always good, man. It just feels more natural,” Caustic says. “[You’ve] got fuckin’ friendly faces in the crowd. Fresh Coast is my family plus I get to use all my fun little local references and shit.”
