Chilla Jones Gives His Winner For Shotty Horroh vs. Hitman Holla

Chilla Jones also recaps his battle with 100 Bulletz at KOTD's "Blackout 5."

Shortly after wrapping up Day 1 of King Of The Dot’s “Blackout 5” earlier this month, BattleRap.com caught up with Boston emcee Chilla Jones to get his take on the day's events, including his own battle against 100 Bulletz.

First, Chilla offered his thoughts on Day 1’s headliner that pitted Hitman Holla against U.K. lyricist Shotty Horroh in a battle judged by Drake with $10,000 on the line.

“I had Hitman 2-1,” Chilla says. “The battle was super close. If I was Drake, you might as well pick a name out of a hat. It was that close to me. I had Hitman but it can definitely go either way. It’s kind of a preference thing. At the end of the day it’s going to be what Drake prefers because they were both that good.”

Later in the conversation, Chilla discussed his battle against 100 Bulletz, a bout he described as the best bar-for-bar match-up of the day.

“Bulletz was dope," Chilla says. "That might be the best Bulletz we’ve seen. I thought he was really good in the Grand Prix so it’s up there with one of his better performances. [He’s had a very strong run] against Charron, Kid Twist and then I think he ended up losing to Arcane but it was that caliber type of performance. He had some dope name flips. He had some dope bars. Bar-for-bar it was my favorite battle of the night."

Finally, Chilla weighed in on the first day of the event overall and revealed his picks for performance of the night.

“That’s tough, man. Shuffle-T and Marlo were fucking hilarious,” he says. “24/7 was amazing. There’s a few other people that I could name, man. There were a lot of really strong showings tonight. As far as the total card, there was not one bad battle tonight. It was amazing all the way through.”
