Drake Puts Up $10,000 For "Blackout 5" Main Event Winners

The winners of Shotty Horroh vs. Hitman Holla and Pat Stay vs. Charron can expect a big bonus.

As is tradition at King Of The Dot, Drake is "putting his money where his mouth is," promising the winners of this weekend's "Blackout 5" main events an added incentive of $10,000.

The Grammy-winning artist and KOTD megafan made the offer from the front row of Friday night's "Blackout 5" press conference at the Eaton Chelsea hotel in his hometown of Toronto. (You can watch the whole conference at the bottom of this article.)

The offer came up after a heated faceoff between St. Louis emcee Hitman Holla and the U.K.'s Shotty Horroh. The two rappers, who are headlining Day 1 of this weekend's event on Saturday, were electric as they boasted and bragged of their own accomplishments while taking verbal swipes at each other. At one point, Hitman stood up from his chair to get in Shotty's face before they were separated by conference moderator Bishop Brigante.

During the next faceoff, between KOTD champion Pat Stay and challenger Charron, Drake made the same offer:

BattleRap.com spoke with Drake and Organik just before the press conference started to get their thoughts on the event:

The press conference itself was incredibly well-attended, with the room packed with fans, media and almost all of the battlers on the card. As always with KOTD press conferences, Rone stole the show. So much so that we heard that Madchild declined to go up after him.
