Murda Mook On Drake, Being #1 & "Blackout 5"

BattleRap.com caught up with the Harlem legend during his first appearance at a KOTD event.

This past weekend King Of The Dot set the precedent for battle rap events in 2015 with their two-day “Blackout 5” card in Toronto, Canada. The building was packed full of guests and familiar faces including Young Money’s Drake and Harlem’s Murda Mook. BattleRap.com spoke with the established legend during Day 2 of the event to catch up with him on everything he’s got going on.

“Right now I’m working on this music,” Murda Mook says. “I’m about to drop this tape. I dropped the first one, Eazy Doez It Part 1. I’m about to drop Eazy Doez It Part 2. I’m just putting out music, doing shows [and] just on the music tip, man. When the battle presents itself, I’ll do it.”

We also spoke to Murda Mook about ranking #1 on The War Report’s Top 10 Of All Time list, as voted for by a panel of experts including BattleRap.com’s editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell.

“Yeah I was [the #1 on the list]. Shout out to them,” Murda Mook says.

“[Loaded] Lux is family but how do you have somebody that I just beat higher than me on the [current list]? I didn’t get it,” Murda Mook says. “I really didn’t get that. I don’t deserve to be on [the current] list at all because I don’t battle enough … How does somebody make a current list when he battles like twice in eight years?”

Mook was also active over social media leading up to the Toronto event. Check out what he was saying below:
