PH Reflects On Joe Cutter Battle At BOTB7

PH also offers his take on Arsonal vs. Mistah F.A.B. and Rum Nitty vs. Lotta Zay.

After the doors closed on Day 2 of King Of The Dot’s “Battle Of The Bay 7” in late January, BattleRap.com caught up with PH to get his views on the event and his battle against Joe Cutter.

“I think [Day 2], the standout battle was Rum Nitty and Lotta Zay. They were just consistent and just going at each other, man. It was tit for tat. They both had powerful performances … Mistah F.A.B. and Arsonal? I honestly expected better from both of them. What was lacking? One was the crowd’s respect for battle rap and letting the person get their stuff and their material off. It was basically — Arsonal lost to the crowd in my opinion. I would like to say he should have focused on F.A.B. but I know in those situations being an emcee and an emcee that actually freestyles, when somebody boos you in the crowd your first initial instinct is to go in on that person and get them back.”

Later in the conversation, PH recapped his Day 1 battle against Joe Cutter.

“I thought it was a dope battle,” PH says. “We’ve been talking about it for a while [and] we finally made it happen. I knew he was gonna have some crazy weird shit where I really didn’t know what he was talking about. All the Jean Grae flips and all that other shit. I figured I’d match wits with him on the jokey shit, which I did, and stick to structuring some crazy bars. And rap. That’s what this is all about, it’s about rapping so I rapped.”
