Music Of The Month: Daylyt, Murda Mook, T Top

Your monthly mix of new music from the battle rap community.

Now that we're three months into 2015, BattleRap.com is back with another edition of our regular Music of the Month feature.

Every month we collect the best singles, albums, mixtapes, and videos from the world of battle rap and compile them here. Below you'll find new music from the likes of Illmaculate, Dotz, T-Top, Okwerdz, and more.

Murda Mook, Jae Millz, Nems - The Rapfest

Murda Mook, Jae Millz, and Nems teamed up for the latest group cypher from Rap Fest. With plenty of in-your-face bars and an eerily aggressive beat from Chi, this eighth installment of the video series might be the toughest yet.

Daylyt - "Crank That PG Step"

Clowning the prevailing style of many Proving Grounds battlers, Daylyt released a video for his single "Crank That PG Step" earlier this month.

Check out BattleRap.com's rundown of some common PG tropes here.

Dre Dennis - "My PG Step" [Daylyt Diss]

Not one to take Daylyt's goofy "PG Step" callout lightly, Dre Dennis took the clowning like a champ with a song standing up for the gesture-heavy style.

T Top feat. Skuda Luv - "Ultimate Hustler"

T Top's new mixtape Bear Witness is now out and the second video offering from the project arrives with a feature from Skuda Luv. Check out the whole mixtape from the popular PG battler here.

Illmaculate & OnlyOne feat. J-Rome - "GATTACA"

With Illmac and OnlyOne's collaborative album Only & Ill still set for a summer release, the duo dropped a gritty new video directed by KOTD cameraman/editor Kyle "Avocado" Gray for their track "GATTACA."

Illmac has also been dropping regular vlogs documenting the recording process on his channel

Filthy Funk (Dotz & Peterz) - Funkin Hell

Teaming up with fellow Bedford rapper Peterz, U.K. freestyler Dotz released a full collaboration project in the form of Funkin Hell. The 22-track outing from the duo known as Filthy Funk boasts a handful of features — including battler Natrill — and was put together after a campaign to fund a home studio project was successfully completed on KickStarter.

Check out the whole project below:

Cracker - "Don't Flop Webham"

Rapping over a beat TDE rapper Isaiah Rashad owned first, U.K. battler Cracker showed out for Don't Flop's latest in-studio freestyle session.

Pedro - "Don't Flop Show Off"

Quickly rising U.K. talent Pedro was the latest to get a look on Don't Flop's live "Show Off" series. Check out the video below and read our profile of the freestyle-driven Pedro here.

Okwerdz Features Arsonal On Freestyle Vault

Keeping up with his biweekly freestyle video series, Okwerdz brought Arsonal out to the West Coast for his latest "Freestyle Vault" and then linked up with Dirt Nasty (a.k.a Simon Rex) a couple weeks later.

Lush One - "Time Machine"

Channelling some of his recent angst in song-form, Lush One dropped off another leak from his upcoming INDIGO TRILLAFORNIAN LP. Touching on his drug use, regrets, and relationship troubles, Lush's "Time Machine" finds the Fresh Coast ambassador picking apart his regrets and rethinking some of his life's choices.

Pen Ultimate - "SPLASH"

Pen Ultimate, an alt-rap group that features BattleRap.com contributor Jackson Yates, let loose a trippy new video for his track "SPLASH" earlier this month.

Philip Solo - Loner

Ground Zero stalwart Philip Solo just released an 11-track album called Loner on Bandcamp. Without a single feature the project features track titles like "Free Drugs," "Numb" "Versace Shotgun," and plenty more.
