T-Top Recaps Charlie Clips Battle At “Rookies vs. Vets”

“I definitely feel like I got the second and third round,” T-Top says.

Following his main event battle against Charlie Clips at SMACK/URL’s “Rookies vs. Vets” event, T-Top spoke with BattleRap.com to recap his performance and the match-up as a whole.

During the conversation, the rookie who is continually touted as one of the best at the moment, said he feels as though he beat Clips 2-1, tipping the second and third rounds in his favor.

“It was dope, man,” T-Top says of his battle and the event. “It was a real good feeling, man. [It] weren’t nothing too different, man. [750 people] ain’t nothing, man … Shout-out to Clips because we had a crazy battle. I definitely feel like I got the second and third round, you know what I’m saying? I give him that first, he was coming out strong, man.”

Later in the conversation, Top touched upon his start in battle rap, specifically his time in the Atlanta-based league, Spit Dat Heat.

“What I would say is it’s not so much as the league propelling the talent out of it, it’s just that the talented niggas seem to find a home at that league,” T-Top says of SDH. “When I first went down there it was a dope feeling, a dope environment so I just kept fucking with them, that’s just me personally. Me and [Brizz] Rawsteen both come from North Carolina. We both started in the same league RBC. Shout-out RBC. After that, we all went to Spit Dat Heat. [Spit Dat Heat CEO Miltown] Bloe welcomed us there with open arms so we just went there and started working, man.”
