Snoop Dogg Speaks On New Battle Rap Series

EXCLUSIVE: Snoop and OD give more details on "Take Flight On Sight."

West Coast hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg started filming his "Take Flight On Sight" battle rap series in Los Angeles this past Saturday (April 4) alongside organizers and emcees from AHAT.

BattleRap.com was in the building and asked Cali Smoov to handle interviewer duties to get the details from Snoop and AHAT boss OD.

The 12-part series will take the form of a battle tournament that will air on Trapflix, the subscription streaming service that also recently dropped the footage from Snoop's "Gladiator School" event from last September.

Snoop explained that the series will help pick combatants for the next edition of "Gladiator School" and then spoke about how he wants to develop his roster.

"Basically, [the show] gives these emcees an opportunity to actually become Gladiators and make it to 'Gladiator School.' And then once we become Gladiators then we can become strong enough to take on another battle league."

Also in the interview, OD explains how the partnership with Snoop came together. "We were talking about how we were gonna work together. You guys seen with the 'Gladiator School' that he just embraced the whole culture. There's a way to do things and Snoop did it right and he was looking out for everybody," says OD.

OD also praised Snoop for supporting Young B The Future, a rising West Coast star who was killed months after capitalizing on a massive opportunity with a win over the more well-known B Magic at "Gladiator School."

"Young B was in my league and you did something for him that I couldn't do. I wasn't in a position to do what you did. So you got my full allegiance on anything you do. Because I wanted to do that and [Young B] was my dude."

Snoop Hosting O'fficial vs. B Magic?

Snoop's name also came up in a recent interview that Angryfans Radio did with New Orleans emcee O'fficial. She shed some more light on Snoop's upcoming moves in battle rap, saying she'd spoken to him about a future match-up.

"Snoop told me he's doing something for the BET Awards in California, and I think that's like June 28 or something like that. He told me I could get a top dude and B Magic said he's with it," O'fficial said (around the 20 minute mark of this interview).
