Daylyt Explains Reconnecting With SMACK/URL

Daylyt says his issues with Smack and URL aren't resolved but that the league now sees his "vision."

In 2013 a botched "Summer Madness 3" event ended abruptly when Math Hoffa punched Serius Jones mid-battle. As the crowd spilled out of the venue Daylyt was caught on film cursing out SMACK/URL for a lack of organization and calling out publicly to be paid despite not getting to perform. During a walk-along interview with VladTV's Michael Hughes the same night Day said outright, "You will never see me on URL again. Ever."

A couple weeks ago Day seems to have reconsidered by agreeing to battle Big T at a planned URL event in June. So, what caused the change of heart?

In a new interview with VladTV Daylyt says he still hasn't resolved his issues with Smack or the league as a whole but seems ready to move forward with his battle this June, in part claiming that they've come around to his charms, realizing that he's a resource despite any perceived beef.

"I don't think the issue was resolved," Daylyt said. "I think it was moreso when the issue happened Smack didn't understand what type of character I was and what I was creating. As time progressed and Smack started to see, 'Damn, this was all a part of Daylyt's big marketing plan.' It wasn't like the issue was resolved, it was more so like, 'Oh shit, this motherfucker Daylyt is actually smart. This shit has actually made him a bigger name. If he returns to URL it'll make me even a hundred thousands of more dollars.' It wasn't that the issue was resolved it was more so that Smack and the URL brand finally seen my vision."

During the interview Daylyt also distanced himself explicitly from a movement on the opposite end of the country, the Fresh Coast, saying outright, "don't associate me with [them]."

"At the end of the day a lot of people think that when you use the word[s] 'Fresh Coast' it's the entire West Cast in general but it's not," Day said. "The Fresh Coast and the West Coast battle rap scene is damn-near two entirely different continents."

Explaining that the battles he takes on KOTD don't represent an allegiance to the league, Day doubled down on his statement.

"Yeah, I may battle on King of the Dot Fresh Coast or I may battle at a Fresh Cast event but I am not a part of the Fresh Coast movement," he said. "I am a part of the Krack City movement, the West Coast movement. There is a big difference and the rest of the world needs to understand that."
