SMACK/URL Announces Live NOME 5 Pay-Per-View

URL jumps into the pay-per-view game with its May 9 event in New York City.

With SMACK/URL’s “Night Of Main Events 5” just days away, the anticipation for the headlining match-up between Charlie Clips and Hollow Da Don is quickly building. The league recently released a mini-documentary promoting the battle that features commentary from both emcees discussing the bout and what it means for their respective careers.

At the end of the video, Smack White dropped a massive revelation announcing that the league would be doing its first ever livestream at the event. For $30, fans can watch the night’s action over pay-per-view exclusively on WatchBattleLive.com.

“I been getting a lot of requests on my IG and on my Twitter and on my social networks in regards to livestreaming and pay-per-view,” Smack White says. "Now I ain’t never been a fan of livestream and pay-per-view. I just don’t like the security and me personally, I like to present my content to the world in a certain way where it’s appreciated for years to come. But, I’m willing to bend at this point just because the fans want it. Due to the overdue of demands of the fans requests for it to be on pay-per-view and livestream, I’m willing to take it into consideration. I’m gonna do the first URL live stream with NOME 5, but I need y’all support. If it don’t add up, if it’s not being respected and the numbers ain’t there like how it should be, then we’ll never do it again. If it do good, then I’m saying I’ll definitely take into consideration doing livestreams and pay-per-views for some of our future events.”

Livestreaming isn't new to battle rap, but it's often been a bumpy road for leagues that have tried it. Both "Ether" and "Total Slaughter" were high-profile events that had major issues with the service, and KOTD has been refining its delivery of live PPVs over the last few months, with its "Back To Basics" receiving mostly positive reviews.

NOME 5 goes down May 9 and features:

  • Hollow Da Don vs. Charlie Clips
  • Tay Roc vs. Tsu Surf
  • Aye Verb vs. K-Shine
  • DNA vs. Serius Jones
  • O'fficial vs. Jaz The Rapper

Order the NOME 5 pay-per-view here and stay tuned to BattleRap.com for live coverage from the event.
