Steams & Xcel Face Off Ahead Of "Bars Over Bullshit 3"

TrapHouse NY is bringing its latest event to Manhattan this Sunday and promising a bar-heavy card through the night. The event takes place on June 14 between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

TrapHouse's latest headliner pits Brookyln battler Steams against Brockton, Mass' Xcel and serves as a microcosm for a larger league feud between TrapHouse NY and We Go Hard. While Xcel is one of the most well-known figureheads of the TrapHouse movement, Steams has the hometown advantage and promised to put his best foot forward with the hopes of bodybagging his opponent.

"Xcel dead — I got all the love for the Homi's but we don't play out here," Steams said in the faceoff video released by TrapHouse. "You know how we do baby. I came to smoke shit. I don't even know what to say, I been so nice to my opponents, I can't be nice this time. I gotta smoke somebody. Somebody gotta get the body. Somebody gotta get 3-0'ed."

Xcel touched on some similar notes but also acknowledged that he's got plenty to prove after taking a handful of battles in a short amount of time. "This battle right here, I mean, there's a lot of things riding on this battle," Xcel said. "I gotta prove. Niggas put my back up against the wall. Whenever you put a nigga back up against the wall, you know what the results is gonna be. I'm gonna come out swinging from the gate. I hope niggas is ready for that."

As for the larger feud between We Go Hard and TrapHouse, Xcel also explained why he thinks this match-up is a perfect way to bring the back-and-forth full-circle. "To me it's good competition," he said. "It's not like when niggas got physical beef or shit like that even though there was a little skirmish or whatever. I feel like this battle is perfect for that. Steams is one of the main faces in We Go Hard and he's probably the pioneer or one of the first guys to put his name down for that league. I am the first guy to put my name down for the TrapHouse and I'm still here ... It's gonna be epic."
