Smack White Recaps "Redemption"

The URL host gives his thoughts on the weekend's throwdowns.

"Redemption" went off in New York this weekend, and BattleRap.com's Chris Mitchell caught up with Smack to talk about the event, "Summer Madness 5," the West Coast division, the "Levelboard" device he was riding around on and the details about his birthday cake.

Smack also took some time to address the DNA/K-Shine vs. Chess/Steams 2-on-2 that lasted for roughly one of its three rounds after some heightened emotions and shoving ground the battle to an early halt.

Smack explains the situation: "The emotions and the tension got a little high and, y’know, it got a little physical. Not physical where a fight or anything, but a lot of pushing and shoving… It made us not be able to continue that battle."

He confirms, however, that he is prepared to stage the battle at a later date. "I’ll have to sit both parties down and definitely resolve the situation and just try to see if it’s possible if all parties could have their mentals right and actually have a chance to do it again."

Late Monday night, he posted this photo:

Also in the interview, he holds Tay Roc vs. Brizz Rawsteen and Shotgun Suge vs. T Top up as his battles of the evening, describing the latter as "real, real, real, real, real dope."

In the clip he also goes on to set pretty lofty standards for SM5, hailing his line-up as one of the best yet.
