Norbes & D Gunna Detail Kentucky Punching Incident

“First and foremost, I did not wake up and be like, ‘Man, I’m about to go beat this nigga Norbes up,’” D Gunna says.

Following his altercation with battle rapper D Gunna at an AHAT event in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday (Aug. 15), URL staff member Norbes called into The War Report Sunday night (Aug. 16) to weigh in on the situation, mostly in a hilarious fashion. Hear Norbes tell the full story around the eight-minute mark below, and listen to the rest of the episode to hear Beasley, Math Hoffa, T-Top and more call in to playfully roast him.

D Gunna also uploaded a video to YouTube explaining his side of the story, saying: "First and foremost, I did not wake up and be like, 'Man, I’m about to go beat this nigga Norbes up.'"

“I was standing by the stage [and] Norbes seen me, he was looking at me, smirking and shit,” D Gunna continues. “I ain’t pay that shit no mind. Some hours went past, I’m minding my business [and] this nigga’s over here talking to some bitch, he didn’t know I was standing right next to him. So he walks up to me and bumps into me, and then when he bumped into me he looked at me and said some lil slick shit. I said, ‘Nigga, you a bitch, nigga,’ that’s what I said to him out the back. So then the nigga reaches his hand out to me like, ‘Man, you ain’t gonna give me a pound?’ I said, ‘Nah, bitch-ass nigga.’ So then he walked away. So by then I’m like, ‘Man, I should beat this nigga up right here inside the battle.’”

Elsewhere, AHAT league owner OD also spoke on the situation, emphasizing that AHAT had nothing to do with the altercation between Norbes and D Gunna. OD wasn't at the event personally but wanted to clear the air.

“Two battle rappers got into it with [Norbes] and it didn’t have nothing to do with AHAT,” OD says. “Those two rappers, they come to the AHAT Louisville events and all that stuff but they never even battled on AHAT. I personally know those two artists, I rock with them and I actually wanted them to be on AHAT. I was thinking about having them come out to Vegas and all that stuff so I’m cool with them, I know them, I ain’t gon’ act like I don’t know them and I ain’t cool with them. I just want to make sure everybody knows that AHAT didn’t have no involvement in that whole situation.

“The whole vibe that AHAT has is we trying to do positive, non-violent events,” OD adds. “We don’t want no parts in no drama and all that at our events. It’s hard to get these venues to rock with battle rap.”
