"Summer Madness 5" Card Confirmed In URL Trailer

We've got all the details on URL's Sept. 26 event in New York City.

Boom! Here it is, URL's "Summer Madness 5" card.

After building suspense for the last few weeks, the New York league finally released a trailer today (Sept. 10) unveiling the official lineup for the Sept. 26 event.

The match-ups are as follows:

  • Charlie Clips vs. Loaded Lux
  • Tay Roc vs. Calicoe
  • Ms. Hustle vs. O'fficial
  • Shotgun Suge vs. Big T
  • T-Rex vs. T-Top
  • John John Da Don vs. Mr. Wavy
  • K-Shine & DNA vs. Steams & Chess

Several of the battles on the card were easy to see coming. T-Rex confirmed his match-up against T-Top in interviews after battling in July and the 2-on-2 was also announced last month since it was being rescheduled after tempers flared on stage at "Redemption," stopping the battle in the top of the second.

Likewise, Charlie Clips and Loaded Lux have been talking about battling each other for months and Clips leaked the match-up on Instagram last month before URL boss Beasley quickly posted a retraction and apology, saying the league was still working out details with Lux. They clearly came to an agreement, and Lux will take the URL stage for the first time since his legendary return against Calicoe at SM2.

Tay Roc vs. Calicoe is an excellent style match-up that we've already written about at length.

Ms. Hustle vs. O'fficial is another match-up we've already written about, and the level of actual animosity between these two is definite reason to get excited.

Mr. Wavy gets another big shot, on the heels of his impressive performance against K-Shine at "Rookies vs. Vets" in March. Wavy showed a ton of potential against Shine and a win over John John would launch him even higher.

One surprise is Shotgun Suge facing Big T. After years of build-up on the URL stage between Suge and Hitman Holla, many fans expected to that match-up go down at SM5. Then the match-up was announced for GO-Rilla Warfare's "The Crown 2" and subsequently cancelled within days. Read the story about that whole saga here.

Big T meanwhile has been away from URL since a rough showing against B Magic at NOME4 in June 2014, but has been racking up solid performances in KOTD and Don't Flop in the interim. He was set to make his URL return against Daylyt at the West Coast "Traffic" card but the battle fell through a few days before the event.

The event goes down Sept. 26 at Irving Plaza. Get your tickets here.
