URL's "Summer Madness 5" is quickly approaching and the main event — Charlie Clips versus Loaded Lux — is set to be one of the biggest match-ups of the year. Both emcees seem to understand the importance of the battle and both seem intent on getting a clear win after their questionable performances against Hollow Da Don, and Murda Mook respectively.
Loaded Lux previewed the Sept. 26 battle in an interview with 15 Minutes of Fame.
The interview starts with Lux explaining how the battle with Clips came together. "I had a conversation with [Charlie Clips] a long time ago. He's always been fighting for this spot. You need validation from certain peers. Some people do that for you, they confirm who you are."
Lux, who seemed very much at ease in the interview, continued to talk about why he chose to battle Clips. "People talk man ... I can't take nothing away from what he did, as far as he's been putting his work in, but I catch them joints out there, he's been throwing names and putting little pot shots."
Becoming much more animated as the interview went on, Lux said, "Who hot? I wanna see who the biggest dude in the yard. Who the nicest nigga in the high school. Who's that guy? I'm gunna study that guy and I'm going for him. Got to knock the biggest dude out ... Why would you put the game on easy? I put it on difficult."
In a separate interview with HipHopIsReal.com, Charlie Clips also previewed the match-up.
"I know against Lux it can't be no playing around whatsoever. You know what's the scary part about that battle with Lux? It's not even Lux I'm going up against, I'm going against myself, 'cause any man standing on that stage gon' tell me 'I Gotta Win.'"
Clips took time to address the notion that he must beat Lux, as it seemingly motivates him. "If I had a debatable with [Hollow Da Don] or let's say he slightly beat me, and Lux got destroyed by [Murda Mook], why do I have to beat him?"
Clips also spoke about Lux's accusations that he lacks third rounds. "Everybody still tell me I don't have third rounds. We could go back to last year when I started cooking, I had Yung Ill, Dirtbag Dan, [Tsu] Surf, all three weeks straight, third rounds are crazy in all three of those, then you got Tay Roc, Hitman [Holla], you got Daylyt, you got T-Rex, you got the Hollow battle, the T-Top battle, the Pass battle, all third rounds and look what happened ... I still don't got thirds."
