The Saurus & Fresco Recap Their Battle At "Back To Baysics 3"

Both emcees comment on Fresco's prize-winning performance.

Shortly after their battle at King Of The Dot's "Back to Baysics 3" in San José on Oct. 24, Fresco (the winner of the $1,000 fan-selected Performance Of The Night prize) and The Saurus caught up with BattleRap.com correspondent Rone for their thoughts on the bout.

Fresco Speaks On What Revitalized His Career

Speaking about what has changed in his life recently that has allowed him to focus solely on battle rap, Fresco says, "Basically I stopped drinking, I quit smoking, I stopped doing all that shit." Fresco goes on to say, "I've been real last minute with shit and this year I've been a little different with it ... less last minute, more earlier preparation and more focus."

Fresco also spoke about the 2-on-2 battle where he and Real Deal teamed up against Big Kannon and Young Kannon at Don't Flop's Chicago event in June saying, "The 2-on-2 brought me to some level and then I was like now this is another level, that's really what it is."

The Saurus: "I Had A Great Time"

"I had a great time in it, obviously Fresco left the planet during our battle at one point and is yet to return, that was dope of him to do," says a humble The Saurus. Talking about how his opponents typically bring their A-game against him, The Saurus says "It always makes me feel good that I bring the best out of people who I regard as some of the best to begin with ... I was happy with my material so at the end of the day, I can't be mad at anything and I just have to be like yo, salute."

The Saurus also took a jab at Gjonaj, explaining that he predicted the outcome of Gjonaj's battle against Dizaster. "Until you've been in that ring against that type of figure, you don't know what you're getting yourself into ... he got washed."

As always, fans and rappers took to Twitter to express their reactions to the battle:
