Daylyt & O Red Recap "Crown 2" Battle

Both emcees break down their match-up at GO-Rilla Warfare's event on Nov. 21.

With such a stacked card, the match-up between Daylyt and O Red was overlooked by most fans going into Go-Rilla Warfare's "Crown 2" event in Markham, Ill. on Nov. 21. But after the event was over, it was one of the battles people were talking about the most. Battlerap.com caught up with both emcees to get their thoughts on the battle that exceeded expectations.

Daylyt: "This was the best O Red Ever"

California-based emcee Daylyt opens the interview by showing love for O Red's performance during their battle, stating, "People be like Daylyt never wins battles, because every time I battle somebody they end up being the best they ever were. This was the best O Red ever ... the way he put it together, he rapped in a different tempo."

After praising Red's performance Daylyt explained why he brings dense material to the Go-Rilla Warfare platform such as in his match-up with Aye Verb last year. "I feel like this crowd is a listener's crowd," he says, "although you may not see the crowd reacting, you will see them in the back going ooh!"

Daylyt also spoke about what's next for him other than battle rap, "I'm on something called a 'world recording tour,' so I am in the process of recording my album around the world at every major studio."

O Red: "I Knew It Was Going TO Be A Dope Battle"

O Red says he expected Daylyt to come with just bars when we spoke with him after the battle. "I was expecting him to come fully prepared, Daylyt asked for that battle for about five or six years, so I definitely knew he was going to come with his A-game ... So I had to prepare extra hard for him," the New Jersey native said.

Red went on to explain why he chose to battle Daylyt. "I was supposed to take a year off, but I couldn't make it through the whole year, I just love the culture you know and I figured me and Daylyt would be a great battle for the culture ... I knew it was going to be a dope battle."

O Red also spoke about the dense material utilized by both emcees stating, "A lot of our material is really meant to be heard and understood on camera, instead of in the building."

As usual, fans took to Twitter to react to their live battle:
