Jay Blac Names His Top 5 Of 2015

The battle rap blogger gives the #1 spot to DNA.

Battle rap blogger and TWR contributor Jay Blac has named DNA as his top battle rapper of 2015.

Blac backs up his #1 pick with a vigorous defense of the Queens veteran, pointing to his consistency and resume last year.  "I believe DNA is the top battle rapper of 2015," he explains. "A lot of people disregard DNA because they don't count the 2-on-2s. How can you not count the 2-on-2s? Are you fucking kidding me? Hitman Holla and Aye Verb vs. DNA and K-Shine? That's a dope fucking battle. DNA vs. Serius Jones? I can do this all day. Small battles: DNA vs. Cityy Towers. DNA vs. Brizz Rawsteen? Keep going. DNA vs. Syahboy. He's battled so many people this year and for the most part, it's very consistent with this guy."

Here's Blac's full list:

  • 5. Shotgun Suge
  • 4. Tay Roc
  • 3. Chilla Jones
  • 2. K-Shine
  • 1. DNA

Blac also released a follow-up video explaining why he didn't include Danny Myers in his list. Since The War Report's list dropped last week, Myers and his fans have been up in arms about the West Coast emcee not being included among the Top  10 (he was #11). Here, Blac explains that Danny's impact didn't compare to some of the other emcees who made the list.
