Pretty much every battle rap fan is eagerly anticipating URL's release of Rum Nitty vs. Ave to see if it will live up to the very high expectations set for it by those who saw it live. Shortly after the battle went down, BattleRap.com's Chris Mitchell caught up with Rum Nitty for his thoughts on the clash.
Talking about the differences between him and his opponent, Nitty explained: “We write different, I feel I’m a little bit more creative. That’s not a shot at him, he’s fire with it, I just feel like I’m different.” Nitty pushed aside any thoughts of his differences being due to regional influences, claiming his different style wasn’t a West Coast thing but rather “a Rum Nitty thing.”
In addition to speaking on his battle with Ave, Nitty addressed a potential match-up with Tay Roc, saying it was a battle that interested him. “He been had my motherfucking attention, he just been lucky that all the fans ain’t been seein it.” Nitty says the time is right, and that Tay Roc told him in the past to “make it to Smack,” to which Nitty responded: “I’m here now.”
