Ave followed up his huge performances against Mike P and Nunn Nunn at the last two URL PG events by setting the bar even higher against Rum Nitty. The post-event feedback for the battle has been all positive, with most in the building calling the match-up a classic.
BattleRap.com editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell caught up with Ave to get his thoughts after the event.
When asked his initial impressions of the battle, Ave seemed incredibly pleased with how things played out, saying: “Classic, great fucking battle, a lot of people saying it was the best battle of the night.” Ave added that he wanted performances like this to be a rule, not the exception, saying: “Every time y’all see me, I’m trying to give you three straight rounds of fire. I’m going to do it every time.”
A few minutes into the interview, fellow Virginia rapper Young X enters to praise Ave, humbly stating: “He’s better than me,” saying Ave “punches in every bar, if not, every other bar.” Shout outs like this show that it’s not just the fans and media who are taking note of Ave’s rising stock, but his fellow battlers as well.
